 AU urges de-escalation as fighting displaces over 180,000 in South Sudan’s Jonglei state The Chairperson of the African Union Commission called for immediate de-escalation and strict adherence to South Sudan’s 2018 peace agreement, as renewed fighting in Jonglei State displaced more than 180,000 people and raised fears of further civilian harm. In a statement, African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf said he was deeply concerned by the deteriorating security situation in parts of the country, particularly Jonglei, where escalating violence and inflammatory rhetoric have put civilians—including women and children—at heightened risk. South Sudanese authorities estimate the number of displaced in Jonglei at more than 180,000, the United Nations humanitarian agency OCHA said last week. TEAM ANAMBRA WINS 18 MEDALS IN 10 EVENTS AT NATIONAL YOUTH GAMES IN UNILORIN.{PHOTOS}

                     It was a harvest of medals at the just concluded National Youth Games at the University of Ilorin,Kwara State,as Team Anambra won 8 medals in ten events.The state team participated in the events alongside their counterparts from other States in the federation,including FCT.However,the team won a total of 7 Gold medals,3 Silver medals and 8 Bronze medals.In the game of chess,the State team came out  the overall best/first in the event with 4 Gold medals and one Silver medal.The State Female Cricket team emerged winner/first in the game of Cricket after beating their Akwa-Ibom counterpart by 7 crickets.The State Wrestling team came second in the tournament with one gold,one silver and one bronze medals out of 3 medals for the wrestling event.However,sequel to the wonderful performance by the Chess team,Ikegbunam Helen who won 3 gold medals and Omesu Miracle who won 2 Gold and one silver medals have been selec...

                                        The make-believe denim have come to stay and alot of people are embracing it because it is softer and it can be worn during hot weathers.The original denim is usually very thick and sometimes very uncomfortable especially around the thigh area of the body but ever since the make-believe denim was introduced in the market alot of people really went for it because they are so comfortable and it comes in different colours,shape and sizes and majority of them stretches.Yesterday sunday i decided to wear a stone wash make-believe blue dress to church and i must confess the weather was so hot but because the dress is light and it stretch i felt so comfortable and at the end everybody thought i was wearing a real denim {jean} gown.The denim gown have gold buttons so i carried a blue purse that have gold strips at the edge and i wore blue and transparent sh...

                   Troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE on patrol from Bama to Pulka ,intercepted suspected Boko Haram terrorists drugs and other logistics suppliers from Firgi and  Zawan ,Bama Local Government Area of Borno State at suspected Boko Haram terrorists crossing point,trying to cross into Sambisa forest yesterday sunday afternoon.The troops pursued them but were only able to apprehend Kadiri Umate ,35 years,while others fled into the bush.The patrol team recovered 35 packets of 500ml of Glocose Intravenous infusion {Drip}, assorted analgenics and pain killers drugs,clothes,bathroom slippers,insecticides,salt,kolanuts and a bicycle.The suspect is undergoing preliminary investigations.In a related development,a suspected Boko Haram terrorists logistics and fuel supplier,Fantoma Lasani was arrested yesterday sunday bt troops in conjunction with Civilian JTF at Muna garage when he came o pick his wife to finally relocate out of M...
