 Fuel scarcity bites harder in Abuja, Ondo, Osun, others • Independent marketers sell PMS between N625 and N799 per litre There is no succour yet for motorists and other petrol end users despite the Thursday statement by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) that it had resolved the logistic problems that sparked the supply crisis. Reports from across the country yesterday showed that many filling stations had no fuel to sell. Some sold over and above the threshold of N650 per litre while motorists and other buyers besieged the few ones that sold within the range of N600 per litre. While many petrol stations in Lagos sold fuel at the normal price and queues were not noticeable, it was a different story in the industrial town of Ota, Ogun State where some filling stations hiked their pump price to N799 per litre. Atiku Sick, Flown To London From Dubai For Medical Treatment  The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, is sick and has been flown to London, United Kingdom for treatment. SaharaReporters exclusively learnt on Sunday that Atiku was flown from Dubai, United Arab Emirates to the UK. This comes less than two months before the presidential election which is scheduled to hold on February 25, 2023. “Atiku is not feeling fine; he is in the hospital receiving treatment,” a PDP Presidential Campaign Council source told SaharaReporters on Sunday. “That’s why he is not back in Nigeria for the presidential campaign. He was in Dubai but has now left Dubai for London for treatment. He has been flown to the UK for treatment. That is why he is still abroad.”

A man has spent more than £18,000 on an ultra-realistic costume so he can fulfil his life-long dream of looking like a wolf. The unnamed man asked Japanese special modelling company Zeppet to make the suit for him, spending a staggering three million Yen (£18,800) to transform into the grey-furred predator.  It took Zeppet some fifty days to complete the incredibly life-like costume. With the specialised company releasing the images of the mystery client in the suit, the bizarre request is undeniably life-like. The anonymous customer with the four-legged aspirations wrote on Zeppet's website: 'Because of my love for animals since childhood and some realistic animal suits appearing on TV, I dreamed of being one someday. He was 54 years old. Family members confirmed the news to TMZ, but did not reveal a cause of death. The actor was reportedly found dead at his home, though foul play is not suspected. Rich played Nicholas Bradford, the youngest son on Eight is Enough, for a total of 112 episodes. The series ran from 1977-1981 for five seasons, and co-starred Dick Van Patten, Betty Buckley, Grant Goodeve, Lani O’Grady and Laurie Walters, among others. He began his career at Chatsworth High School with a drama teacher who also taught Kevin Spacey and Val Kilmer. Iran on Saturday, January 7, hanged two young men, one a karate champion, the other a volunteer children’s coach bringing the total number of people known to have been executed in connection with the protests that have swept the country since September, to four. Mohammad Mehdi Karami and Seyed Mohammad Hosseini were hanged early Saturday morning, Iranian state-affiliated Fars News reported. The pair allegedly took part in anti-regime protests last year, and were convicted of killing Seyed Ruhollah Ajamian, a member of the country’s Basij paramilitary force, in Karaj on November 3, according to the Iran’s judiciary news agency Mizan. Passengers kidnapped, many injured as gunmen attack train station in Edo Gunmen have abducted scores of passengers from a train station in Igueben Local Government Area of Edo State. The victims were waiting to board a train to Warri in Delta State when their attackers struck on Saturday, January 7, 2023.  Spokesperson of the command, Chidi Nwabuzor, who confirmed the incident in a statement last night said some passengers sustained bullet wounds during the attack.  According to the PPRO, the abductors, armed with AK 47, invaded the train station on Saturday evening and shot sporadically into the air before abducting scores of intending travellers. PENDING CASESIN APPEAL COURT HIT 1,000.(PHOTO).

 Pending cases in appeal court hit 1,000  8 January 2023    During the 2021/2022 legal year, the Court of Appeal cumulatively dispensed 609 cases, it was gathered.   Of the 609 cases dispensed with, 157 cases were upheld while 452 cases were dismissed.   Meanwhile, carried forward into 2023 are 865 pending appeals   Of this figure, 760 are civil cases, 25 belong to the Fundamental Human Rights Category and 71 are criminal cases.   Findings further reveal that 2245 pending motions have spilt over the new year.
