 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

EFCC DETAINS/RE-ARRESTED IMO STATE EX-GOVERNOR ACHIKE UDENWA TODAY.{PHOTO}.

                       The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today wednesday re-arrested the former governor of Imo Stat Achike Udenwa in connection with alleged campaign scadal at the last presidential election.Udenwa as a State Co-ordintor for The Presidential Campaign Organisation in Imo State was said to have collected the sum of N350,000,000 {Three Hundred and Fifty Million Naira Only} from the former senator representing Kaduna South and Director of Finance for the PDP presidential campaign organisation,Nenadi Usman.The suspect,in his statement to the Commission admitted receiving the money via Diamond Bank account No.0058805692 and 005950791 respectively on the 14th and 28th of January 2015 in three separate instalments.He added that the money came from a company named Joint Trust Dimension Limited.This same company was charged alongside Mrs Nenadi Usman and the Media Director of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation,Femi Fani Kayode before Federal High Court Lagoss

NIGHT WEDDINGS IN KENYA COASTAL TOWN OF MOMBASA,HAVE BEEN BANNED.

                         According to CCTV,Kenya security agents have banned night wedding ceremonies at the coastal town of Mombasa due to increased cases of insecurity.Wedding organizers have been asked to ensure the weddings end by 10 pm or seek clearance from the security agents and must get police protection,which is paid for according to the Daily Nation.The decision came after increases attacks on residents by knife wielding gangs.Some of the residents supported the ban while others opposed the decision claiming that security should be free to allow the celebrations to continue as usual.The Swahili community in the region hold overnight events,weddings that extend up to five days.''The government cannot ban night weddinfs,which are cultural in this region..Instead,security agencies must deal with the gangs.We are in the 21st century and such orders are archaic'' said Commission for Human Rights and Justice executive director Julius Ogogoh.A group of young crimina

                                The first Chibok girl rescued from the Boko Haram militants in Nigeria claims to have missed her husband and that she is unhappy to be separated from the father of her baby.Amina Ali is among the over 200 school girls kidnapped by the militant group two years ago.Amina,21 year,with her four month old baby were rescued early this year.In an exclusive interview to media house, she said ''I want him to know that I am still thinking about him...Just because we got separated,that does not mean that I don't think about him,I just want to go home-I don't know about school''.This is a very serious issue the government should look into.The government should not over look these situation,because the remaining girls might not be able to be that child to their parents again.So the question is is't worth it rescuing them since most of them have already built a home with this militants?.More photos below.

                   The Lagos State Government today wednesday announced plans to activate multi-faceted projects designed to improve the standard of living in the State,among which is the commencement of construction of  a Fly-over Bridge in the popular Pen Cinema junction of the State.The Pen Cinema Fly-over is the third which the Akinwunmi Ambode-led administration in the State will be constructing after those of Abule-Egba and Ajah Roundabout.The State Government had also constructed a Pedestrian Bridge at the ever busy Berger Bus Stop along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to facilitate easy human and vehicular movement.Addressing a joint ministerial press briefing at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre in Alausa,the State Government also announced readiness to commence the deploymemt of 13,000 Closed Circuit Television {CCTV} Cameras,additional 6,000 street lighs and security sensors for surveillance and crime prevention across the State from October,2016.Commissioner for Information and Strat

                            As part of efforts to implement the law against street trading,the operatives of the Kick Against Indiscipline {KAI} Brigade,the law enforcement unit of the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment,on Tuesday,clamped own on illegal street traders and hawkers obstructing free flow of vehicular movement along major roads and highways in Lagos.Speaking on the enforcement operation,the KAI Marshal General {KMG},CSP Jimoh Amusat {rtd} reiterated the determination of the present administration to enforce the law and Intensify the on-going campaign against the illegal act,vowing that a situation where illegal street traders and hawkers defy the order of the State Government would not be tolerated any longer.He maintained that tough action would be taken against present and future offenders caught in its renewed efforts at combating the menace in the metropolis,imploring all residents to support and cooperate with the State government in its efforts to uphold the law

                                         The Vice Chancellor,Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta,FUNAAB,Professor Olusola Oyewole alongside the University Bursar,Mr Moses Ilesanmi are being quizzed at the Iyaganku office of the EFCC Ibadan today,August 17,2016 in respect of an alleged case of Abuse of Office and misappropriation of funds reported against the Management,the University Pro Chancellor and some members of the Governing Council.According to a petition submitted to the EFCC by the Concerned Stakeholders of the Federal University of Agriculture,it was alleged that the Pro Chancellor and the Vice Chancellor engaged in an unbridled corruption and betrayal of public trusts.The duo are still being interrogated and have made useful statements that will help the EFCC operatives get through a diligent investigation into matter.Details later.

                     This is very funny but the story is true.A 30 year old trader has been arrested by the police in ogun state for naming his pet dog ''Buhari''.The trader identified as Joe Fortemose Chinakwe,of No 10,Omikunle Street,Sango-Ota,Ogun State,was reportedly arrested last weekend,after one of his neighbours of Northern origin complained bitterly that he named his dog after his father,Alhaji Buhari.The complainant reported the case at Sango Police Station,last Saturday,after which the trader was arrested and detained.However,it was gathered that efforts by the police to recover the dog,which they intended using as evidence failed following a clever move by the suspect.The trader,said to be trading in female wears at a popular market in Sango,allegedly directed his friends secretly to kill the dog and possibly eat the meat in order to avoid being implicated.It was gathered that consistent appeals by his friends and relations for the police to grant him bail f
