 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

  Lady apprehended in Ogun state after her husband's corpse was found in their bathroom three days after his d€ath Pandemonium broke out in the Ijoko area of Ogun state in the early hours of today May 29 after a man was found d€ad in his bathroom. According to residents of the compound where the incident happened, they began to suspect something wasn't right when they did not see the deceased simply identified as Mr Nnanna for about a week. Their suspicion grew when a foul sm€ll began to emanate from the room of the couple. The landlord of the compound said he and some other residents approached the wife this morning and asked for the whereabouts of her husband. The woman who appears to be mentally unstable said he was fine and slammed the door at them. The landlord said they insisted that the man might have d*ed since the foul smell persisted and flies began to perch around the windows of their apartment. COAS COMMISSIONS NEW EDIFICE IN OPERATION HADIN KAI THEATRE OF OPERATION The Chief of Army Staff ( COAS ) Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya on Friday, 27 May 2022, commissioned a Remodelled Joint Intelligence Fusion Centre (JIFC) in Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri.  The COAS who was represented by the Theatre Commander, Joint Taskforce (JTF) Northeast (NE) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Major General CG Musa charged all Officers present during the commissioning ceremony to emulate the initiative and do same wherever they will find themselves as Commanders.  He disclosed that the JIFC will harness the already existing synergy between the military and other security agencies to rapidly identify emerging threats, enhance multi-agency proactive and predictive analysis capabilities and improve the delivery of both Kinetic and the non- kinetic approaches in the Counter Terrorism and Counter Insurgency ( CTCOIN ) efforts of the Theatre. Another wanted drug lord arrested in Ondo as Italy based Nigerian excretes 95 pellets of Heroin at Abuja airport  . Tons of Tramadol, cannabis seized in Edo, Kaduna, Kogi, A/Ibom, Oyo Wanted drug kingpin behind the 2000.6kg Cannabis Sativa seized in a concrete mixer truck in Adamawa State on 2nd December 2021, Henry Chukwuneku Okamaru (a.k.a. Lawrence Ik Okamaru) has been arrested in Ondo state after five months of manhunt by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.    Two suspects: Matthew Donuwe and Friday Nmborgwu were arrested in connection to the consignment last December. Speaking at the exercise held in the Board's office at GRA, Ikeja, the Executive Secretary, LSCPWB, Mrs. Florence Yetunde Gbafe, said the screening is a prerequisite for all intending pilgrims to ascertain their state of health as the pilgrimage requires fitness and soundness of mind.
