EFCC Arraigns Two for N10.6m Fraud in Gombe   The Gombe Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, September 18, 2023 arraigned Adamu Muhammad Dila and Aminu Sani (at large) before Justice A. Muhammad of Gombe State High Court, Gombe on three -count charges bordering on criminal misappropriation and cheating to the some of N10,560,000.00 (Ten Million Five Hundred and Sixty Thousand Naira).    One of the charges read: "That you, Adamu Dila and Aminu Sani sometime in February at Gombe, Gombe State, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court dishonestly converted to your personal use goods (flour powder) worth the sum of N10,560,000.00 (Ten Million Five Hundred and Sixty Thousand Naira) belonging to one Aliyu Abdullahi Aliyu and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 308 and punishable under Section 309 of the Penal Code Law".    The defendant pleaded not guilty to the three count- charges filed against him.   Follow

Bauchi Tribunal Upholds Bala Mohammed’s Election Victory Bauchi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has confirmed the victory of Governor Bala Mohammed at the March 18 2023 Governorship election. The Tribunal, led by Justice Kwahar, struck out the petition filed by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Retired Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar, challenging the victory of Bala Mohammed as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Delivering the judgement, Justice Kwahar held that the court has no grounds to nullify the election as the petitioners failed to provide convincing evidence. Tribunal Verdict: Kano Gov't Declares 24-hours Curfew - Police Commissioner  Aftermath of the Governorship election petition tribunal, Kano State government has on Wednesday evening declared a 24-hours curfew in the state to avoid breakdown of law and order. The Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel who confirmed the curfew order in a statement issued to newsmen in the state, said the curfew takes effect from 6pm of Wednesday, 20th September to 6pm of Thursday, 21st September 2023. Lagos Road Damaged By Erosion Collapses A section of the road linking Ikotun roundabout to Ejigbo and other neighbouring communities in Lagos State has collapsed. The road, which is just by a canal, caved in after the downpour on Saturday, September 16. Residents said the road was gradually damaged by erosion over the years. They, however, added that it was left unattended despite the series of complaints made to the government. More photos below.

India Baby Born With 26 Fingers And Toes A baby has been born at a hospital in Rajasthan, Northwestern India, with 14 fingers and 12 toes. The baby girl has seven fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot. While doctors have described her condition as a genetic anomaly, her family are reportedly delighted and have publicly called her the reborn version of Dholagarh Devi, a well-known local deity whose temple is near where the girl was born.  A medic at the hospital where the baby was born, Dr BS Soni, said "There is no harm of any kind in having 26 fingers, but it is a genetic anomaly. The girl is otherwise absolutely healthy." It is not currently known whether the family are planning to have their newborn girl undergo surgery to reduce the number of digits on each limb.
