EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

5 KENYAN POLICE KILLED AFTER THEIR TRUCK HITS EXPLOSIVE DEVICE,YESTERDAY.

              According to Reuters,five Kenyan policemen were killed yesterday tuesday in the coastal county of Lamu after truck hit an improvised explosive device planted on the road by Islamist militants al-Shabaab.A senior regional official said ''The truck had about 10 administration police officers and the explosive that blew it up seemed to have been planted on the road they were using''.Senior officials and police declined to give official statement on the attack,saying it was sensitive,and that they still awaited detailed report from officers on the ground.But Lamu Governor Issa Timamy said ''It is unfortunate that once again the nation is mourning the deaths of our five officers killed at the hands of the al-Shabaab''.Meanwhile Sheikh Abdiasis Abu Musab,al-Shaab's military operation spokesman told Reuters that ''We killed eight Kenyan soldiers after we burnt their car with a roadside boom near Lamu area''.The attack comes les

A WOMAN KILLED HER BABY TODAY,SHORTLY AFTER DELIVERY IN PLATEAU STATE.

                Today wednesday,the police in Panyam,Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau,arrested a woman for allegedly killing her newly born baby girl.NAN reported that the woman {name withheld} allegedly killed her baby shortly after delivery.It was gathered that the widow had suffocated the baby with clothes and dropped her in a pot.''After dropping the baby in the big pot,she went to the backyard of the family house and hid it before proceeding to the farm.But unfortunately for her,curious children,who were playing around the backyard picked the pot to play with only to discover the dead baby inside and quickly raised an alarm''.The incident happened today wednessday and Mr William Nkarang,Divisional Police Officer {DPO} Mangu,who confirmed the incident,told pressmen that the suspect had been arrested.He said she would be prosecuted but that she was not in good health.''We got wind of the sad and unfortunate incident and arrested the woman only to discov

LAGOS STATE GOVT,BANS PARTIES,SOCIAL FUNCTIONS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

             Yesterday tuesday,the Lagos State Government said it would no longer allow social functions and parties in public schools just as owners of private schools across the state have been warned to comply with rules and regulations guiding their operation.The Deputy Governor of the State,Dr.Mrs Idiat Oluranti Adebule who disclosed this while briefing the media on the strategic focus of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode's administration on education for 2016,said the Governor had directed that schools should no longer be used for social functions.She said ''The Governor has directed that schools will no longer be used for social activities any longer.We want to implore members of the public to report any school that violates this directive and we would ensure that defaulting schools are sanctioned accordingly''.Adebule,who also oversees the Ministry of Education,said the state government was putting a searchlight on the standard of education in the private schools,sa
