 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

F.B.I,DONATED FORENSIC EQUIPMENT TO THE EFCC.

                  The Federal Bureau of Investigation {FBI}on yesterday tuesday ,donated a forensic work station to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission {EFCC},as a way of enhancing the collaboration between them.The equipment,technically referred to as F.R.E.D {Forensic Recovery of Evidence Device} was presented to the Head of Operation,Lagos Zonal office of the EFCC,lliyasu Kwarbai by the United State acting Consul General,Dehab Ghereab.According to Ghereab,the equipment will enhance the EFCC's effort in the fight against cyber crime and standardize its operations.''As we engage in these practice,we needed our counterparts,so the FBI office made an assessment of the prevailing cases of cyber-based crimes which are not unique to Nigeria''.In the views of Fritz Kennely,a technical personnel with the FBI,the device will help the EFCC in analyzing,processing and preservation of digital evidence which can be presented in court in a clear,concise and understanda

A FAKE DOCTOR LEE EDWARD,ARRESTED IN NEW YORK AFTER 3 YEARS OF ILLEGAL PRACTICE.

                     According to sources,a 43 year old former flight attendant was arrested on friday in New York on charges he pretended to be a medical doctor and psychologist,allegedly treating more than 100 patients from his basement apartment for the past three years.Donald Lee Edwards of New York,never ever graduated from any medical school or earned a doctoral degree to be licensed for either profession.Bbut he prescribed patients medications and he do take blood and urine samples from patients.Prosecutors said Lee-Edwards had been  seeing patients since 2013,billing himself as having worked extensively with family members and victis of 9/11.Althoughit was unclear if he actually did.His Attorney Matthew Blum said there is no evidence he ever harmed anyone.''He said ''They're alleging he was some sort of doctor who was operating on peoplw.They're turning this guy into a monster.He was really just trying to help some people in his community''.Inves

                 The governor in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary,Mr Habib Aruna said that the decision was carried out based on a recent discovery that the concession was grossly detrimental to the interests of the people of the state.According to him,only N50 million was paid by the concessionaire,Afriland Properties,for a 50 year lease of the property belonging to the government.He said the state Government,as custodian of the interests of Lagosians,is committed to the restructuring of the LSDPC to ensure it begins to provide positive capital returns to the state Government for the ultimate benefit of the people''.Governor Ambode had two months ago,relieved former Managing Director of the LSDPC,Mr Biodun Oki,of his appointment,and appointed Mr Jacob Agosu as Acting CEO of the Corporation,in a bid,according to the statement,to stem the tide of negative capital returns of the corporation.
