The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. Man arrested for impregnating his daughter and also turning her into a prostitute in his house in Ogun A 49 years old man, Amoda Bola, was on August 17 arrested by men of the Ogun state Police command for allegedly impregnating his 14 years old biological daughter (name withheld). The suspect, a resident of Idi Oro street, Ode Remo was arrested following a complaint received from the victim, who reported at Ode Remo divisional headquarters that her father with whom she has been living with for some years now has been having carnal knowledge of her. She stated further that her father has also been inviting men to the house to have sex with her after which the men will pay him money. Bandit Kingpin Bello Turji Has Embraced Peace In Zamfara – Deputy Governor A notorious bandit kingpin Bello Turji has embraced the peace initiative of the Zamfara State Government as part of efforts to end banditry in the north-western state. Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Senator Hassan Nasiha, disclosed this during a conference on security in Gusau, the State capital organized by the Students Union Of Medina University. Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) has expressed its concern about the use of underage persons on construction sites in Lagos, noting that the rampant practice is worrisome and must be stopped. The General Manager of LASPPPA, Tpl. Kehinde Osinaike, disclosed this while speaking on the report of an enforcement exercise carried out by the Monitoring and Compliance Unit of the Authority, maintaining that the trend is common in most construction sites across the State. Adamawa School Suspends Admissions After Muslims Protest Paying Fee In Church Micro Finance Bank  The Adamawa State College of Nursing and Midwifery has suspended the admissions it started on Tuesday after some Muslims in the state protested against the payment of parts of the admission fees in a microfinance bank owned by a church. The school had directed applicants to pay the sum of N500 professional fee meant for the state Nursing and Midwifery Council into an account opened in the Brethren Microfinance Bank in Yola, the state capital, where the school is also located. All applicants must also pay N5,715 for the admission form. The payment for the admission form was to be paid in other banks. But some Muslims, led by one Shehu Ismail, protested the school management’s decision to use the church’s bank to collect the Nursing and Midwifery Council fee. Popular Catholic Priest Known For Yam Farming, Father Okoye Unveils "PawPaw Akpo", 2022 Yams Whoever knows Reverend Father Philip Okoye will describe him as one of the best yam farmers there is.  But his expertise in agriculture has gone beyond yam farming.  Apart from cultivating yams of biggest sizes and quantity, Father Philip has now introduced 'paw paw Akpo' during this year's yam exhibition tagged 'come see yams 2022" at his new parish, Holy Family Catholic Church Akpo, in Aguata council area. Arrests grandpa who ships illicit drugs to his daughter in Dubai Over 2.3million tablets of illicit pharmaceutical opioids and other psychoactive substances meant for distribution in seven Northern states of Borno, Kano, Kaduna, Sokoto, Zamfara, Gombe and Nasarawa have been intercepted by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA in series of interdiction operations in the past week.
