 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. 2 DEAD AS ISLAMIC MILITANTS,ATTACKED A POLICE BASE IN SOUTHERN MALI TODAY.

                     About 30 attackers arrived on motorbikes at the base in the Sikasso region near the Ivorian border waving a black flag and shouting ''Allahu Akbar'' {God is the Greatest}.The base was burnt to the ground and two people were confirmed dead.Colonel Souleymane Maiga,Director for Communication for the Malian army confirmed the attack that took place earlier today that ''Very early this morning,a police base in Misseni was attacked by armed men''.He did not give a death toll or comment on the identity of the attackers but said reinforcement had been deployed to the area.Mali erupted into violence in 2012 when Islamic militant group linked to al-Qaeda and Tuareg separatists joined forces to seize the desert north.A French led military operation a year later chased them out,although tensions and sporadic violence recur.

PRESIDENT BUHARI,TO ATTEND AU SUMMIT IN SOUTH AFRICA.

                            According to the Nigerian Consul General in South Africa,Ambassador Uche Agulu Okeke,said that arrangement have been made,concluded to host president Muhammadu Buhari when he visits South Africa at the weekend.He said Buhsri would be in South Africa to attend the African Union summit holding between saturday and monday.The consulate would host the meeting between the Nigerian community and Buhari.She said all necessary arrangements had been made to ensure that Buhari's visit to South Africa was smooth.The President of the Nigerian Union,South Africa,Ikechukwu Anyene,also said Nigerians in the nine provinces of South Africa had been mobolised to receive Buhari during his visit.''It is an opportunity for Nigerians,resident in South Africa to meet our new president for the first time and we eargerly awaiting the visit''.

A JEWISH 102 YEAR OLD WOMAN SYLIM,JUST GOT HER P.H.D YESTERDAY AFTER 80 YEARS OF FIGHTING FOR IT.

                               The 102 year old woman is identified as Ingeborg Sylim Rapoport,is pictured above with her husband.She received her doctorate from a German university yesterday tuesday,nearly 80 years after the Nazis prevented her from sitting the final exam to officially obtain it.She is an expert in children's infections,and she was presented with her PHD title by Hamburg's UKE University Medical Centre,yesterday,despite having completed her thesis on Diphtheria in 1938.She had studied Medicine in the northern port city and worked at its Israelite Hospital from 1937 to 1938 when she wrote her doctoral dissertation on Diphtheria.By then Hitler's regime had imposed racially motivated legal restrictions which barred her from being allowed to sit her oral exam and obtain her title because of her Jewish descent.Her professor in 1938 had issued a certificate stating he would have passed her thesis...
