 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

                      The acting Vice Chancellor,Obafemi Awolowo University,Prof. Anthony Elujoba and University Bursar,Mrs Aderronke Akeredolu are being quizzed at the Iyaganku officee of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC Ibadan,today 13th December,2016,in respect of an alleged case of illegal and corrupt diversion of N1.4 billion.According to the petition,Elujoba allegedly diverted the sum from the University's Fixed Assets and Endowment Fund without approval from the Federal Ministry and Governing Council of the University to pay some unapproved allowances from which he paid himself N7m {Seven Million Naira}.The VC and Bursar are still being interrogated.More photos below.

                                                                                              According to sources,Bill Cosby was back in a Pennsylvania courtroom today tuesday where a judge was deciding whether or not to allow 13 of the the women who have accused Bill Cosby of rape to testify against him in his upcoming trial.Though sources said the 79 year old star was all smiles as he entered the courtroom with members of his legal team,smilling and waving to those in the crowd and at one point joking with the security guards by telling them:''Don't tase me bro''.He walked into the court room holding a cane which he did not seem to use,choosing instead to lean on a member of his legal team.Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steels took issue with the defense's naming of the 13 victims,saying that they were releasing details about the individuals in hopes of intimidating them before the trial.Cosby's lawyer Brian McMonagle responded to this by sayi

                        Radio Biafra page who posted this pictures is reporting today that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will be tried in secret.According to the source Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja,today proceeded to deliver rulling on whether or not to allow masked witnesses testify against the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra,Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and three other defendants joined in the suit.Recall that on the previous court sitting of 1st December,the Prosecution to the Federal government had through an application,obliged the court to allow its witnesses testify behind the scenes,claiming that their lives are being threatened.He also prayed the court to give pseudo names to the witnesses,saying that this will ensure their safety and willingness to testify against the defendants.Before proceeding to hear the case,SAN Chuks Muoma told the court that his client Nnamdi Kanu is not medically fit to stand for too long and as such should be permitted to sit down.

                The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on thursday,8th December,2016 secured the conviction of three operators of wonder bank,Dayo Peter Bulus {a.k.a Bu;us Maiyakil Oyeleye Adetunji {a.k.a James Adetunji} and Martins Adedayo before Justice Salad Mohammed of High Court 2 Gombe,Gombe State on two Count charge of Conspiracy and Cheating to tune of {N968,050} Nine Hundred and Sixty Eight Thousand Fifty Naira Only.The Convicts were arraigned by the EFCC on thursday 8th December,2016 before Gombe State High Court no.2.Upon their arraignment,the convict pleaded guilty to the two count charge against them.In view of the plea of guilty entered by the 2nd,s= and 4th Accused Persons,the prosecution counsel A.M Labaran urge the court to convict them based on their plea as there is no better evidence than the confession of an accused person and also cited Section 28 of the Evidence Act,2011 as Amended.The complainant alleged that the convicts were using the Company Graceland R
