There, I reiterated my determination to grow Nigeria out of poverty, stimulate the growth of SMEs and create wealth and opportunities for all Nigerians''.

     Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has called on Nigerians to discountenance the illegal move by the Pro-APC Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to declare four officials of the State Government wanted. He further stated that the Rivers State Government will diligently fight the EFCC acts of impunity within the ambit of the constitution, noting that the State Government will not be cowed. In a statement on Wednesday, Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu quoted the Rivers State Governor as saying that the illegal action of the EFCC is aimed at armtwisting the court and embarrassing the Rivers State Government. The governor noted that the Rivers State Government and the EFCC appeared on Tuesday (September 11, 2018) before the Federal High Court on the matter, which was adjourned for ruling by the court.      The Acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu has expressed the readiness of the Commission to work closely with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, to check infractions militating against local content development in the Nigerian oil and gas sector.      Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has approved the appointment of Dr. Olokoba Abdullahi Ayinla as the substantive Provost for the State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS), Ilorin. The appointment was disclosed in a statement released by the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Abdullahi Alikinla on Tuesday. According to the commissioner, the appointment of Dr. Ayinla takes effect from Tuesday, October 2, 2018. He expressed confidence that given his qualifications and prior experience, Dr. Ayinla will transition well into his new position as the Provost and capably manage the affairs of the college. Prior to his appointment, the new Provost was the Deputy Provost, Administrative affairs of the college. It would be recalled that the College had in May, 2018 invited application from qualified candidates for the position.

     Commissioner of Lagos State Scout Council, Chief Jonathan Tawose on Wednesday conferred the State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode as the Patron of Lagos State Council of Scout Association of Nigeria, saying the decision was based on his leadership qualities and being a good role model for the Nigerian youths.        The Catholic Diocese of Orlu has been thrown into yet another mourning as its priest, Fr. Jude Egbom, was on Monday evening, shot dead by suspected hired assassins. Fr. Egbom, until his demise, was the priest of the St Patrick’s Parish Amucha in the Diocese of Orlu, Imo state.       The Federal Ministry of Transportation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Japan for cooperation in promoting quality Infrastructure investment and continuing cooperative relationship between Nigeria and Japan. Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi signed the MoU with Japan’s State Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Tsukasa Akimoto at the Federal ministry of Transportation, Abuja.
