 PRESS RELEASE FG Flags Off  Three Major Water Supply Projects to Boost Access in Benue State The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation, has flagged off three critical water supply projects in Benue State as part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.  The projects which includes rehabilitation and upgrading of the Buruku-Gboko Water Supply Project, Rehabilitation and Improvement of the Wannune Water Supply Project, and Construction of the Ugbema Water Supply Project are aimed at expanding access to potable water, improving public health, and mitigating the prevalence of waterborne diseases in the state. GOVERNOR WIKE CALLS ON NIGERIANS TO DISCOUNTENANCE EFCC'S ACT OF IMPUNITY.#PRESS RELEASE.

     Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has called on Nigerians to discountenance the illegal move by the Pro-APC Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to declare four officials of the State Government wanted. He further stated that the Rivers State Government will diligently fight the EFCC acts of impunity within the ambit of the constitution, noting that the State Government will not be cowed. In a statement on Wednesday, Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu quoted the Rivers State Governor as saying that the illegal action of the EFCC is aimed at armtwisting the court and embarrassing the Rivers State Government. The governor noted that the Rivers State Government and the EFCC appeared on Tuesday (September 11, 2018) before the Federal High Court on the matter, which was adjourned for ruling by the court.      The Acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu has expressed the readiness of the Commission to work closely with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, to check infractions militating against local content development in the Nigerian oil and gas sector. He made the promise on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 while playing host to the management of t he NCDMB led by its Executive Secretary, Simbi Wabote, at the new Head Office of the EFCC, Abuja.      Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has approved the appointment of Dr. Olokoba Abdullahi Ayinla as the substantive Provost for the State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS), Ilorin. The appointment was disclosed in a statement released by the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Abdullahi Alikinla on Tuesday. According to the commissioner, the appointment of Dr. Ayinla takes effect from Tuesday, October 2, 2018. He expressed confidence that given his qualifications and prior experience, Dr. Ayinla will transition well into his new position as the Provost and capably manage the affairs of the college. Prior to his appointment, the new Provost was the Deputy Provost, Administrative affairs of the college. It would be recalled that the College had in May, 2018 invited application from qualified candidates for the position.

       The Catholic Diocese of Orlu has been thrown into yet another mourning as its priest, Fr. Jude Egbom, was on Monday evening, shot dead by suspected hired assassins. Fr. Egbom, until his demise, was the priest of the St Patrick’s Parish Amucha in the Diocese of Orlu, Imo state. A Facebook user, Comr Chikezie Chico described how the Catholic priest was killed. “The priests, entire Catholic faithful and Christians of the Catholic Diocese of Orlu and beyond woke up from sleep on the 11th September with the sad news of the assassination of Rev Fr Jude Egbom whose sad event happened on the evening of 10th of September 2018. “Fr Jude Egbom who visited his hometown Umuwala that very day, decided to have a haircut at Nkwerre not knowing that the heavy hands of death were already at hand. The Green Beret football team qualified for national league competitions in a nationwide league one, division one championship qualify match against Olisa football team of Ogun State on Saturday 8 September 2 018, at the Ilorin Township Stadium, Ilorin, Kwara State. The Nigerian Army Green Beret Team qualified for national league competitions when they won Olisa football team of Ogun State with a 5-4 penalty shoot-out score.       The Federal Ministry of Transportation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Japan for cooperation in promoting quality Infrastructure investment and continuing cooperative relationship between Nigeria and Japan. Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi signed the MoU with Japan’s State Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Tsukasa Akimoto at the Federal ministry of Transportation, Abuja.
