PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES . (PHOTO). #PRESS RELEASE.

 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria. A WOMAN LIFTS HER MAID UP AND SLAMS HER TO THE GROUND BECAUSE OF ATM CARD.{PHOTOS}.

        Nigerians have expressed outrage after a video of a woman lifting her maid up and throwing her to the ground was shared online. In the heartbreaking video, the woman is seen reaching into the car to drag out a child believed to be her maid. She then lifts her into the air and slams her to the ground. The girl stood immediately and ran off, afraid of what her madam could do next and the woman ran after her. It is not clear what led to the woman's outrage but she is heard in the video ranting about "ATM". It is suspected the maid might have misplaced her ATM card. Nigerians who watched the video are shocked by it and are asking for the abusive woman to be found and prosecuted. A Facebook user claims the woman lives in Enugu and they supplied an address which they alleged is hers.More photos below.

       As part of its humanitarian programmes aimed at ameliorating the plight of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the Northeast of the Country, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) today, 23 December 2019, presented Dignity Packs to young girls at IDP Camps in Dalori and Bama in Borno State. The distribution of the Dignity Packs, which contain sanitary pads, towels, detergent, ba th soap, body cream, body spray as well as inner vests and other sanitary items, is aimed at assisting young females in the Camps to build a culture of personal hygiene that would also enhance their self-esteem. In his remarks, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, who was represented by the Commander Air Task Force (ATF) Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Air Commodore Precious Amadi, noted that the packs were being distributed in response to an appeal made to the CAS by some of the girls during his last visit to the Camp.          It was all fanfare in Ojokoro, a densely populated suburb in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area of Lagos State, on Monday as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu fulfilled the commitment given to the residents, with the inauguration of 31 network of roads recently completed by the current administration. The contract for the roads, which adds up to a total of 20.216 kilometres in length, was awarded in 2017 in two phases, but construction work was stalled shortly after, leaving the roads in deplorable condition. For about two years, the hapless residents groaned in distress plying the roads. Sanwo-Olu, on assumption of office, reviewed the contract for the roads and promised to complete them before the end of December. Six months after, the Governor fulfilled the promise.          Justice Mohammed Liman of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Monday, December 23, 2019, dismissed an application for a post-conviction bail filed by a convicted former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu. Justice Liman dismissed the application for lacking in merit and also ordered Kalu to remain in the Correctional (Prison) Custody till his appeal is heard. Kalu had, on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 , filed the application, following his conviction and sentencing to 12 years imprisonment for N7.1bn fraud by Justice Muhammed Idris sitting at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos on December 5, 2019. In the application, Kalu, through his lawyer, Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, had claimed that he had health challenges that could not be managed by the medical facilities in the Custodial Centre in Ikoyi, Lagos.        The EFCC, Ilorin Zonal Office on Monday, December 23, 2019, secured the conviction of one Enoch Oluyode who was prosecuted on offences bordering on Internet Fraud and other Fraud Related Offences. Justice Mahmood Abdulgafar of a Kwara State High Court, sitting in Ilorin, the State Capital, convicted and sentenced Oluyode to six months imprisonment after finding him guilty on a one count amended charge levelled against   him by the EFCC.
