The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State.  Slain Soldiers: It’s illegal to declare suspects wanted, says Falana Human rights lawyer Femi Falana has criticized the Nigerian Army’s decision to declare eight suspects wanted in connection with the killing of 17 soldiers in Okuama community, Delta State. Falana emphasized that it is illegal for the military to declare murder suspects wanted and warned against mishandling the case of the slain soldiers. In a statement on Thursday, Falana stated, “The decision of the Defence Headquarters to declare the murder suspects wanted is completely illegal.” He urged the federal government to direct the defence headquarters to transfer the investigation of the suspects involved in the gruesome murder to appropriate civilian authorities.  A Centralia woman that was ran over and dragged 40 yards tells her story on the one year anniversary of the incident. Update on a story from March 21, 2023. On that date, Centralia resident Aimee Aud was allegedly purposefully ran over by 25-year-old Elizabeth McLaughlin. After a year of waiting, and a year of healing, it appears the state's attorney is preparing to try Elizabeth in court after several continuances by a few different defense attorneys. A violent crime victim advocate recently reached out to the victim. Aimee is very thankful that she may have some closure soon.  A little over a year ago, Aimee was hit and dragged under a Yukon as the driver sped away from the scene for approximately 40 yards until Aimee's mangled body broke free from under the vehicle. Presently at the  High Court of Justice, Enugu  where judgement has just been delivered in my favour as Trustee and Executor of the Will of Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu in Suit no.E/398/2013 , and validating the last wishes and testamentary dispositions of my late husband Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu who passed away on 26th November 2011.  The judgement also affirmed Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu’s position regarding those he acknowledged as his offspring. 9-YEAR-OLD CALIFORNIA BOY LEADS POLICE ON A SHORT LIVED LOW SPEED CHASE WHICH ENDED NEXT DOOR TO HIS SCHOOL. (PHOTO).

 9-year-old California boy leads police on a short lived low speed chase which ended next door to his school. When officer Terry Dunn noticed a vehicle stopped in the middle of an intersection in Oroville, CA, he used his PA to tell them to move. Once he cleared the intersection he got in behind the vehicle and the chase began. The driver fled through a gas station lot and into a vacant lot next to a local school before stopping and reversing into Dunn's Patrol car. Officer Dunn exited his vehicle and began cautiously approaching the vehicle. This is when he noticed the perp had an "usually small head." As he was assessing the situation, to his surprise a 9- year-old boy stuck his head out the car window and said, "I'm sorry, I was just trying to get to school."  EFCC Arrests 74 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Ogun Operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday, March 28, 2024 arrested seventy-four(74) suspected internet fraudsters in Ogun State. The alleged fraudsters were arrested at Government Residential Area, G.R.A, Shagamu,  in Ogun State following surveillance and intelligence  exposing their suspected internet-related  offences. Items recovered from them include seven exotic cars, three laptops, 124 mobile phones, one PlayStation 3 game, two motorcycles and other incriminating documents.  Court quashes Debe’s suit, awards Ojukwu’s will to Bianca The Enugu State High Court presided over by Justice A.O Onovo has thrown away for lack of merit, a suit initiated by the late Chief (Dr) Debe Odumegwu Ojukwu (who claimed to be the first son of the late Ikemba Nnewi, Dim Chukwemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu) against Ikemba’s window, Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu. Debe had gone to court challenging the authenticity of Ikemba’s will, arguing that as the first son of the late Biafra leader, his name was supposed to be contained in the will which his name was not therein. Debe further claimed that Ojukwu’s will was tampered with and sought from the court for an order restraining the defendant, Mrs Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu from interfering with the administration of the estate of the late Ikemba, as well as a declaration that Ojukwu died without writing any will.  NYSC certificate forgery: Court grants Bayelsa senator N50m bail A Federal Capital Territory High Court in Apo has granted the senator representing Bayelsa Central, Benson Konbowei, a N50m bail. The senator, who was arraigned on Tuesday on three counts bordering on forgery of the National Youth Service Corps exemption certificate among others was allowed to go home pending the ruling on his bail application fixed for Thursday. The counsel for the prosecution, Rubben Egwaba, had opposed the bail application for the defendant. He noted that the defendant would interfere with his trial if granted bail. He said, “While the charge was filed, the defendant took several steps to interfere with the matter. He also wrote a lot of petitions against me to truncate the matter.
