 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria. A FAMILY OF 6 WAS KILLED BY FOOD POISONING IN SOKOTO.

                It is indeed a very sad news that six members of the same family had died as a result of food poisoning in Awilkiti village of Gudu Local Government Area of Sokoto state.It claimed the lives of two women and four children of the same family and all the deceased persons had since been buried according to Islamic rites.A delegation of the state government led by Lands and Housing Commissioner,Alhaji Nasiru Dantsolo,had also condoled with the bereaved family.Dantsolo described the deaths of the six persons as a great loss not only to their family but to the entire state.May their soul rest in peace,Amen.

MILLIONS OF NAIRA WAS LOST AS FIRE BURNT TO ASHES,AWORI PLANK MARKET IN ABULE EGBA.

           According to sources,it took over four hours for men of the Lagos state fire service to put out the fire which destroyed goods worth millions of naira,including three vehicles parked at a nearby mechanic workshop.Eye witnesses are claiming that the fire started from a waste plastic recycling shop before spreading to the plank market,but Comrade Bayo Babalola,one of the auditors of United Waste Recycling,Lagos state,discarded the claim.He insisted that nobody knew exactly where the fire started but commended the courage of the traders who have started reconstructions of the market after the fire incident.

             Joan Rivers Funeral service took place at Temple Emanu-EL in New York city yesterday the 7th of September 2014.Giuliana Rancic,Kelly Osbourne,Howard Stern and other celebrities gathered at the temple to mourn Joan Rivers.Guests arrived by 11.am and the ceremony started around 12:15pm.As guests exited the Temple,a bagpipe player played tunes,including Frank Sinatra's ''New York,New York''.The picture above shows Joan Rivers daughter Melissa still crying and Melissa's son Cooper.More photos below.                                                                                                                                                           

PRINCE WILLIAM AND KATE MIDDLETON ARE EXPECTING THEIR SECOND CHILD.

                               Today monday,Prince William and Kate Middleton,announced that they are expecting their second child one year after their first son George.They broke the news today throughClarence House,the official twitter account for the royals.They tweeted ''Their Royal Highnesses,the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announced that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child.The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news''.                                                  

3 ITALIAN NUNS,FOUND DEAD IN BURUNDI.

                According to father Mario Pulicini,he is responsible for the parish in northern suburb of Burunbura,named two of the nuns as Lucia Pulici,who was 75 and due to celebrate her birthday today monday and Olga Raschietti ,82.He said they were found dead in their dormitory yesterday sunday.The third nun,79 year old Bernadetta Boggian,was also found dead early monday morning.The killings appeared to happen at two separate times.''It is very difficult to know the reason behind the killing,but nothing can justify it''.The Catholic diocese in Parma,Italy said on its website that the dead of Pulici and Raschietti,appeared to have been ''The tragic out come of an armed robbery by a mentally unbalanced person''.Those two nuns had served in Burundi for seven years after working several years in the east of another central African state,the Democratic Republic of Congo''.
