The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.       The EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, arraigned one Mohammed Babagana Alkali alongside his companies, The Million Oil and Gas Limited and Yafandi Oil and Gas Limited , before Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos State on a 26-count charge bordering on conspiracy to steal, forgery and stealing to the tune of N45,340,500.00 Alikali was alleged to have between June and August, 2019  in Lagos, with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of N45,340,500.00 (Forty-five Million, Three Hundred and Forty Thousand,Five Hundred) by false pretence from Kain Energy Limited by falsely representing to her that he will purchase Automotive Gas Oil and supply it to Kuramo Industries Nigeria Limited, which representation he knew to be false.

       A drama ensued at the Ikeja City Mall today as an angry Nigerian lady publicly confronted her husband's side chick. According to reports, the woman accosted the lady after several warnings to leave her husband alone. Though the identities of the women was not immediately available at the time of filing this report, the married lady who snatched the light-skinned lady's wig was heard saying; You are f*cking him, husband snatcher, I'm talking to you.The Good thing is that the side chic didn't respond even when her wig was pulled out.That woman should also go and confront her husband and leave that lady alone.More photos below.

       On Monday, His Excellency, Governor Emeka Ihedioha, swore-in Dr Abraham Nwankwo as the Chief Economic Adviser to the State. Dr Abraham Nwankwo before his appointment served as the the Director-General of Nigeria's Debt Management from 2007. He joined the agency as an Assistant Director in 2001. Dr. Abraham Nwankwo holds a Ph.D degree in Economics from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, where he also obtained his Bachelors and Masters degrees in the same discipline. He was the first PhD graduate in Economics produced by the University of Nigeria Nsukka, 25 years after the institution was established. After a few years of lecturing at the same University, Dr Nwankwo enjoyed a versatile career in banking and finance where he rose to top management positions. Dr. Abraham Nwankwo veered into public service in 2001 when he joined Nigeria's Debt Management Office. In 2007 he became the Director-General of the agency.         Iraq’s President Barham Saleh on Wednesday condemned Iran’s missile strikes on Iraqi bases where the US and other foreign troops are based, saying he feared “dangerous developments” in the region. “We denounce the Iranian missile bombing that hit military installations on Iraqi territory and renew our rejection of the repeated violation of state sovereignty and the transformation of Iraq into a battlefield for warring  sides,” his office said in a statement. Iran launched the missiles early Wednesday in response to the killing of senior Revolution Guards commander Qasem Soleimani in a US drone strike in Iraq last week.

      The newly appointed Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Professor Lilian Salami has paid a courtesy visit to the Benin Zonal Office of the EFCC. The VC said the purpose of the visit was to seek EFCC collaboration in terms of knowledge sharing. "We are here to seek for collaboration in terms of knowledge sharing, to partner with the EFCC in sharpening our tools as nobody knows it all." Responding, Muhtar .S.        The Acting Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Magu has warned illegal oil bunkerers in the Niger Delta region to desist from acts of oil theft and economic sabotage. He gave the warning on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State while addressing the Media. According to him, illegal oil bunkering is a terrible leakage of the economy and the EFCC would not   relent in fighting it. "Let me also use this medium to warn all illegal oil bunkerers to desist from their nefarious operations". The EFCC Chairman, who was on a Working Visit to the Port Harcourt Zonal Office of the Commission, said the EFCC is resolute in its fight against economic sabotage and oil theft. He said "the Niger Delta is highly significant to our national economy and the Commission will continue to do all that is lawful and patriotic in ensuring that operators of illegal oil bunkering are brought to book", he said.One more photo below.
