 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria. BOKO HARAM ATTACKS MAIDUGURI,STATE CAPITAL OF BORNO STATE YESTERDAY.

       According to sources,suspected Boko Haram Insurgents attacked the outsirts of the state capital of Borno state Nigeria on friday,escalating their attacks these week in which more 150 people have been confirmed in these week attack.Hearvy gunfire was heard coming from the fringes of Maiduguri,the capital of Borno state,for about half an hour yesterday friday evening.A military source said the insurgents attacked a village on the edge of the city but they were repulsed.Before friday's attack on Maiduguri,gunmen killed nearly 50 people in a village on tuesday,rounded up and shot dead about 100 in Kukawa on wednesday and killed 12 in a dawn raid on another village on friday.Two suicide bombers killed at least 10 people along a highway on thursday.I am yet to receive casualty report of yesterday's attack.

POLICE IN SOUTH CAROLINA,DECLARES THAT NATURAL CAUSES STARTED THE FIRE IN A BLACK CHURCH.

              According to the police,a fire that destroyed a Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church in Greeleyville,South Carolina,on tuesday was from natural causes and not linked to a spate of fires at similar churches across the South.The U.S Department of Justice is investigating the fires and has so far determined that one was an electrical fire and two others were from natural causes.The fires were being investigated against the backdrop of the June 17 shooting of nine black church goers at a historic black church in Charleston,South Carolina.The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division said in a statement on thursday that the Greeleyville church fire probe as completed and ''Investigators observed no indicator of criminal intent.Based upon the scene examination,the fire debris analysis,witness statements and a lighting strike report,the cause of the fire was best classified as natural''.

                    Mrs Ruth Uche,the mother of three sets of twins who was abandoned by her husband Mr Uche who is a factory worker,after she gave birth to the last set of twins,will now be supported by the Lagos state government.Governor Akinwumi Ambode in a statement signed by his Chief press secretary,Mr Habib Aruna,said yesterday friday that ''It is not proper for anyone to abandon his family,especially young children that they willing brought to life.It is only when such children are properly taken care of that they can achieve their full potentials in life and become responsible citizens''.The Governor got to know about Mrs Ruth Uche's situation,through a newspaper publication which narrated her ordeals,and also her distress visit to the Government Secretariat Alausa on thursday.Ambode said his government would continue to provide good leadership that would guarantee adequate protection of lives and property of all residence.His government will assist in rais
