  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. SCHOLARSHIP: GOV. ZULUM PAYS 75 BORNO LAW STUDENTS WITH N22.5M.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

  Borno Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum has approved and released N22,500,000 for payment of scholarship to 75 citizens of Borno State in law schools. Commissioner for Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Babagana Mustapha Mallambe who announced this in a statement on Monday, The Commissioner disclosed that payments to students have already began with each been paid N300,000. Recalled, Governor Zulum had in January approved the release of N624m been paid to over 23,776 indigens of Borno in 49 tertiary institution across the country. Also in in January, Governor Zulum approved financial support to resident doctors who are indigens of Borno state found in different parts of Nigeria.

  Master Edeani Izuchukwu, a student of Air Force Comprehensive School (AFCS) Agbani, Enugu State has emerged winner of the just concluded National Science Competitive Examination where he was awarded the “774 Young Nigerian Scientists Presidential Award”. The competition is organised annually by the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology and opened to all secondary schools nationwide. Izuchukwu, a Senior Secondary 3 student representing Enugu State, came first at the grand finale of the competitive examination held on 14 March 2021 in Abuja. He emerged the Best Overall among several other students from the 36 States of the Federation including the Federal Capital Territory.
