 Noise pollution: Lagos seals five churches, 19 hotels The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has temporarily shut down no fewer than five churches and 19 hotels over noise pollution between March 23 and April 26  Calculations by our correspondent also showed that no fewer than four markets and shopping complexes were also shut down over noise pollution and other environmental infractions. The churches that have been temporarily sealed include St Monica’s Hall of Our Lady of Lord’s Catholic Church, Christ Rock of Fire Ministry, Wonderful Bible Prayer Ministries, God’s Porch Ministries, and an unnamed Catholic Church Some of the hotels affected are School2bar, Blue Seasons Hotel and Suites, Sulerious Lakeside Hotel, Monero Hotel and Suites, and Lekki Hotel and Suites. 38-year-old pastor arrested for allegedly defiling his choir member A 38-year-old pastor Israel Adebayo has been arrested by men of Ogun state Police Command for defiling a 14  years old member of his Church (name withheld). The Pastor who is the General Overseer of "The Beloved Chapel " situated at No 9, Iyaniwura street, off Owonikoko street Agbado area of Ogun state was arrested following a complaint lodged at Agbado divisional headquarters by the mother of the victim,  who reported that while she traveled to treat herself of certain ailment, her daughter who happened to be a choir member in their church, went to Church and the Pastor lured her into his room and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.  Upon the report, the DPO Agbado division detailed his detectives to the scene where the Pastor was promptly arrested.  On interrogation, the Pastor who admitted defiling the victim pleaded for forgiveness. Oniru Collapsed Building... LASEMA in search and rescue operations  The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency has activated its Emergency Response Plan after having received a distress call of a building that collapsed at Oba Idiwu Oniru Street beside Avi Maria, Victoria Island, today, 4th September, 2022. Upon arrival at the scene of the incident, an uncompleted 7 storey building undergoing construction was found to have collapsed. Ehiarimwiam was arrested on Sunday 28th August on his way to Italy, via Doha on a Qatar Airways flight. An indigene of Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State, he was found to have concealed five thousand (5,000) tablets of Tramadol 225mg in his luggage. LASG TO ARREST DEVELOPER, EXPERTS RESPONSIBLE FOR IRU/VICTORIA ISLAND CONSTRUCTION The Lagos State Government has ordered arrest of the developer and building professionals working on the 7-floor structure that collapsed under construction in the early hours of Sunday at Oba Abiodun Oniru Road in Iru/Victoria Island area of the State. The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development,  Dr. Idris Salako, spoke during his visit to the site of the building collapse, saying that the developer and professionals violated the planning laws of the State by embarking  on the construction without a valid Planning Permit and ignoring official warnings to halt the building project. He emphasised that under no circumstance should anyone construe the filling of Application for Permit through the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) as a ticket to commence construction.
