              Yesterday wednesday,a zimbabwe's constitutional court ruled that marriage before the age of 18 is illegal.The uprecedented ruling by the court followed an application by two women,Loveness Mudzuru and Ruvimbo Tsopodzi,who sought to have the legal age of marriage moved to 18 for both men and women.The two young women were just girls when they were married and gave birth for the first time.Ruvimbo Tsopdzi now 20 was 15 when she had to get married.She was forced to leave the marriage and return to her parents home after suffering emotional and physical abuse,she told the court in a signed affidavit.She said ''My life is a hell at the moment and cannot be wished on anyone else.Raising a child when you are a child yourself is excruciation and painful''.Part of the ruling says ''No person,male or female in zimbabwe may enter into any ,marriage,including an unregistered customary law union or any other union,including one arising out of religion or a

                  Today thursday afternoon the 21st of January 2016,Nigerian ex-Minister of Petroleum Mrs Alison Madueke,appeared at a London Police Station.Alison Madueke was at the Charming Cross Police Station,London to honour the invitation by the authorities.She was granted bail on the same condition given earlier and asked to return to the station on the 21st of June.In October last yea,she was arrested by the UK National Crimes Agency,alongside four other people.The charges against her were looting and money laundering in the United Kingdom using a network of relatives and businessmen.More photos below.                                                                                                                       

                      Today thursday,the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission {EFCC} arraigned the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party {PDP},Olisa Metuh,before the Federal Capital Territory High Court,Abuja,over destruction of evidence in his criminal case.Metuh who is also standing trial for his alleged involvement in the diversion of arms procurement funds,reportedly destroyed the statement he wrote to EFCC operatives during investigation.The PDP spokesman,however pleaded not guilty to the two count charge filed against him./Metuh who was granted bail by a judge at the Federal High Court,Abuja on tuesday is still in prison following his inability to perfect the bail conditions.According to sources,the presiding judge in the fresh case,Justice Ishaq Bello,adjourned the matter till next monday.One more photo below.                                                                                                            

                                          According to sources,a five member screening committee set up by the All Progressive Congress has disqualified a former member of the House of Representatives,Uche Ekwunife,from contesting election into the vacant seat of the Anambra Central Senatorial District.The part selected Sharan Ikeazor,a former interim woman leader of the party,as its candidate in the election.The Court of Appeal,sitting in Enugu,had in December declared the seat vacant and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to conduct a fresh election within 90 days.The court quashed the earlier ruling of the National Assembly Election Tribunal that Mrs Ekwunife had won the seat in the March 28,2015 senatorial election,which she conrsted as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party.The appeal was filed by the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance,Victor Umeh.Following her loss at the appeal court,Mrs Ekwunife defected to the APC to contest the rerun since t

              According to sources who reported today thursday that Nigerian headquarters in South Africa is unable to issue visas for business,visitors or tourist visa applicants.A notice on the visa headquarters website reads ''VisaHQ does not provide service for visas to Nigeria.The consulate has no visa labels and that means no visas can be issued at all till they receive stock''.The visa will be unavailable until mid-February.One more photo below.
