 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. NBC HAS COMMENCED BROADCAST INDUSTRY REFORM IMPLEMENTATION-LAI MOHAMMED.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

       The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has commenced the implementation of the reforms approved by the President to strengthen the NBC’s regulatory role and make it more effective. The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, disclosed this in Lagos on Friday at a meeting with the Filmic Group, a platform for Creative Industry Practitioners comprising movie producers, theatre directors and content producers, among others. “I can confirm to you that the current NBC Management and Board have begun the actual implementation process. I am reliably informed by the Acting Director General of the NBC, who is here with us, that in the next two weeks, there will be a stakeholder Validation Conference to endorse the new initiatives in the industry, after which the necessary amendments to the Broadcasting Code on Monopoly and Anti-Competition, unwholesome content on social media and other amendments will be published for the public and the industry,” he said.

      The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) yesterday, 5 March 2020, commenced a 3-day medical outreach to the Kerawa, Mubale and Marina Communities in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, that were affected by recent armed bandits’ attack. The outreach is being conducted in furtherance of the NAF’s efforts to relieve the plight of inhabitants of the 3 communities by meeting their healthcare needs. 24-YEAR OLD MAN STABBED HIS GIRLFRIEND TO DEATH FOR ALLEGED CHEATING IN LAGOS.{PHOTOS}.

      The Lagos State Police has arrested a 24-year-old man identified as Daniel Chukwudiebele Okocha for stabbing his girlfriend Nkechi Vivian Agwor, to death over claims of her cheating on him. Okocha who revealed that he watched his girlfriend die 45 minutes after stabbing her, committed the offence at their apartment in Egbeda area of Lagos. It was gathered that the couple got into a heated argument after the deceased insisted on going to church. The argument degenerated into a fight after the suspect who felt his girlfriend had an "appointment" with another man who attends same church with her, refused allowing her to leave the house.
