 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

Alleged N6.2bn Fraud: Defendant Contradicts Self in Trial-Within-Trial The trial of former Plateau State governor, Senator Jonah David Jang and a former cashier in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (OSSG), Yusuf Pam before Justice C. L. Dabup of Plateau State High Court, Jos, continued today April 26, 2022 with a trail-within-trial in which the second defendant, Yusuf Pam, under cross examination by the prosecuting counsel, Rotimi Jacobs, SAN, contradicted himself over claims that his statements were extracted under duress. 200-LEVEL BENUE VARSITY STUDENT ALLEGEDLY COMMITS SUICIDE 200-level Benue varsity student allegedly commits suicide  A 200 level student of the Joseph Sarwuan Tarkaa University, Makurdi, Benue State has allegedly committed suicide by hanging.  It was gathered that the 20-year-old student identified as Ogbonna Shedrach took his own life over family challenges.  The Public Relations Officer of the school’s students union, Comrade Zaki Christian, confirmed the incident in a statement on Sunday, April 24. Police, military found alleged nine abducted herders in Anambra, recover cows Ten herders were abducted in Ogbaru Local Government Area of the state on Saturday. ByChinagorom Ugwu April 25, 2022  Police in Anambra State, on Monday, said they have found nine of the 10 abducted members of the Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in a bush at Ochuche Umuodu  in Ogbaru LGA The South-east Chairman of MACBAN, Gidado Siddiki, had raised an alarm that 10 of their members were abducted by gunmen in Obene Community, Ogbaru Local Government Area of the state on Saturday. The gunmen, who also stole over 300 cows, had demanded N4 million ransom and a gun from the families of the victims. But, the police spokesperson in the state, Tochukwu Ikenga, said nine of the abducted herders have been found. Mr Ikenga disclosed this in a statement on Monday.  *LAGOS:* At least two persons have been feared dead after a yet to be identified  celebrant invited the police for security during his birthday celebration at LA SILVA hotel Egbeda on Sunday.  The said police man who was allegedly drunk wanted to shoot upwards, then accidentally shot at them as they were spraying money on the celebrant. Details are still sketchy but a purported video of the incident has been seen. If you notice, the main man spraying the money  Is also dead.
