Nigerians'll Soon Know Who Is The Religious Or Tribal Bigot -Peter Obi  *** “Call it whatever you want to call it. Whatever anyone wants to make of it. I am not a religious bigot. Do you think I can just pick a phone and say ‘religious war’? No, I was even begging the bishop to help me ask his people to vote, which was what I was doing for six months – begging. I wasn’t saying ‘catch him’, ‘kill him’, ‘force it’. I was even begging. That shows that I continued to look for votes by begging. There were so many things we tried to do but they were not okay.  “Let me tell you. Those who have been trying to manipulate Nigerians have been doing it. But it is coming to an end. The people they have been manipulating are dying of hunger. They will soon know who is the religious or tribal bigot. I am not one. I have just given you an example of how I built mosques. Till today, no non-Muslim governor has sent more people to Mecca than me.  “I can never say it (poll) is a religious war. Because

GOVERNOR IKPEAZU TO MEDIATE IN THE CRISIS AT THE STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY AND CALLS FOR CALM  The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has offered to mediate in the crisis in the State House of Assembly. The Governor is of the firm view that with barely less than one month to the end of his administration and the ushering of a new administration, it will absolutely make no sense to engage in any issue that is likely to plunge the State into any form of confusion. Governor Ikpeazu's main preoccupation at the moment is how to pilot the Ship of State peacefully and steadily into the new administration and tie up all administrative matters including the completion of key projects. The Governor, therefore, does not have the luxury of time and resources for any crisis at the moment. Above all, the mood in the State makes any such move inexpedient.  Governor Ikpeazu appeals to the Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji and Members of that hallowed Assembly to maintain

I STILL REMAIN THE DEPUTY SPEAKER OF THE 7TH ABIA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY.(PHOTO).#PRESS RELEASE.

I STILL REMAIN THE DEPUTY SPEAKER OF THE 7TH ABIA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY. Today I read with amusement my purported suspension and removal/impeachment as the Deputy Speaker of the 7th Abia State House of Assembly by 6 of my colleagues. I wish to inform the General Public that the said impeachment is null, illegal and can best be described as an effort in furtility. This is based on the fact that Rt. Hon. Chinedu Enyinnaya Orji who precided over the plenary had already been removed as the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly before my alleged removal. His removal/impeachment was based on allegations of gross misconduct and abuse of office. Consequently, Rt. Hon. Chukwudi Apugo (Member Representing Umuahia East State Constituency), was elected as the new Speaker by Majority of Members of the House.  Section 92: 2c of the Nigerian Constitution clearly stated it that “The Speaker or Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly shall vacate his Office if he is removed from Office by a res

*“We Should Get Back to Work, from Monday to Friday”* - _Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo (CFR)_  Paul Nwosu Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo (CFR), Governor of Anambra State, has called on Labour to work from Monday to Friday, saying it is unfair that government pays 100 percent of workers' salary only to get 70-80 percent of their work time in return. Surprised at the large turnout of workers at this year's May Day rally which fell on a Monday, the Governor said it appears Monday sit-at-home has become an excuse for workers to avoid work.  The Governor stated this while responding to the speeches made by the Chairman Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Humphrey Emeka Nwafor and the Chairman of Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade Chris Ogbonna at the 2023 Workers’ Day event held at Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka. The demolition exercise which was led by the Chairman of the Agency, CSP Shola Jejeloye took place after an eviction notice was served to the illegal occupants who had constructed makeshift buildings, some of which were constructed right under high-tension cables running through the area.  CSP Jejeloye pointed out that the shanties not only constitute health and safety risks to residents in the area but also serve as a haven for criminals who make use of such locations as a hideout. The Chairman said “This is the third major enforcement we are carrying out in this very location as we did two years ago and even last year. Some of the kiosks are built under the high tension cable which is very dangerous”. “What you are seeing today is the fulfillment of Lagos State Government’s promise to maintain and sustain a serene and habitable environment, fr
