               Senate President,Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki,has stated that healthcare insurance and coverage should be mandatory for all Nigerians. Speaking at the close of debate,after the Senate's consideration of the Second Reading of a Bill for An Act to Repeal the National Health Insurance Commission {NHIC},the Senate President stated that affordable healthcare was the right of every Nigerian,hemce,the Senate would work to expand the scope of the existing national healthcare insurance system through enabling laws.''The high mortality rate that we experience with certain health conditions is largely due to lack of basic and affordable healthcare'',the Senate President said,''Our focus should be on health coverage for all Nigerians-irrespective of their background.''Universal healthcare for all our citizens will ensure that common illnesses like malaria,and conditions like childbirth,will no longer lead to loss of life''.

                    Acting President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,Professor Yemi Osinbajo on tuesday said that the Federal Government was committed to delivering a fast and efficient rail service system between Lagos and Ibadan within a projected time frame of December 2018.             There was a mild drama at the Federal High Court,Enugu March 6,2017 when some depositors with the ''Lets Partner With You'' protested what they considered a long adjournment of the case involving the operator and managing director of the company,Patrick Shanchi Nwokike,his wife Rosemary Ifeoma Nwokike and their company.Justice Dugbo R.O Oghoghorie had adjourned the case to May 17,2017 for trail,a development which angered some victims who are demanding a speedy trial of the case.The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC had on tuesday November 15,2016,arraigned the trio on a four-count charge bordering on Advanced Fee Fraud and carrying out banking business without valid License,offence which run contrary to the provisions of Section 2{1} of the Banks and Other Financial Institutions Act and the case adjourned to March 6,2017.When the case was called up,the prosecution led by M.U.         Troops of joint operation DELTA SAFE have intensified raids operation against crude oil theft with destruction of 80 illegal refineries across Bayelsa,Delta and Rivers State recently.      In Bayelsa state,troops patrol around Obhoyohan and Ngiri Creeks in Nembe Local Government Area discovered and destroyed 7 illegal refineries containing 150,00 litres of suspected stolen crude oil.3 suspects were also arrested in connection with the illegalities,and are currently undergoing investigation. While in Delta State,troops patrol around Sara Abileye Swamp in Warri South West Local Government Areas discovered a network of 6 illegal refineries made up of 4 storage tanks,2 dug out its filled with products suspected to be stolen crude oil.Additionally,another patrol at the axis Ajoloso Creek in Elume community destroyed a camp housing 8 illegal refineries.
