 AU urges de-escalation as fighting displaces over 180,000 in South Sudan’s Jonglei state The Chairperson of the African Union Commission called for immediate de-escalation and strict adherence to South Sudan’s 2018 peace agreement, as renewed fighting in Jonglei State displaced more than 180,000 people and raised fears of further civilian harm. In a statement, African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf said he was deeply concerned by the deteriorating security situation in parts of the country, particularly Jonglei, where escalating violence and inflammatory rhetoric have put civilians—including women and children—at heightened risk. South Sudanese authorities estimate the number of displaced in Jonglei at more than 180,000, the United Nations humanitarian agency OCHA said last week. GOVERNOR OSHIOMHOLE,BAN'S IGBINEDION UNIVERSITY NURSING STUDENTS FROM USING STATE OWNED HOSPITALS FOR TRAINING.

                     According to sources,the governor of Edo state today wednesday,issued an executive order stopping the nursing students of Igbinedion private university Okada,from making us of the facilities of the Edo state owned Benin central Hospital and the Stella Obasanjo Hospital.Mr Peter Okhira,Chief press secretary to the governor of Edo state,read the order,which is contained in a press statement,saying,it was part of the ongoing audit to rid the system of parasites,feasting on the patrimony of the Edo state.''The student of the school of nursing,affiliated to Igbinedion university,have untill now used government hospitals free of charge over the years even when they pay their fees to the Igbinedion university''.

NIGERIAN ARMY KILLED SOME BOKO HARAM ATTEMPTING TO CAPTURE BIU IN BORNO STATE TODAY.

            The Nigerian Army,few hours ago on twitter,confirmed the attack on Biu town by tweeting ''Troops in pursuit of fleeing terrorist''.According to eye witness Mohammadu Idi,claimed that five Boko Haram fighters had been captured as well as two anti aircraft guns after they try to capture the town of Biu.Mohammadu said at least 17 bodies of Boko Haram fighters littered on the road near the Biu army barracks after the attack.At the moment,only three escaped into the bush and are being pursued by the soldiers.The Boko Haram insurgents were shouting ''Allahu Akbar {God is the greatest} and shooting everywhere,but confronted by the soldiers for three hours,and most of them were killed.                                                                              ...

HALF OF MALAWI,DECLARED A DISASTER ZONE BY THEIR PRESIDENT,AFTER 48 PEOPLE DIED IN THE FLOOD.

               Malawi's Department of Meteorological Service has warned of heavy rainfall and flash floods in the country for the next two to three weeks.Their president Peter Mutharika said ''So far it is estimated that 69,9995 people have been displaced by the floods and 48 people have lost their lives.The floods have also damaged a lot of hectares of crops,washed away livestocks and damaged infrastructure,such as roads and brides.Many people remained stranded and would need to be rescued from low-lying areas prone to flooding.I declared all the 15 districts that have been affected by floods Disaster Areas......I appeal for humanitarian assistance,from the international donor community''.More photos below.
