 Noise pollution: Lagos seals five churches, 19 hotels The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has temporarily shut down no fewer than five churches and 19 hotels over noise pollution between March 23 and April 26  Calculations by our correspondent also showed that no fewer than four markets and shopping complexes were also shut down over noise pollution and other environmental infractions. The churches that have been temporarily sealed include St Monica’s Hall of Our Lady of Lord’s Catholic Church, Christ Rock of Fire Ministry, Wonderful Bible Prayer Ministries, God’s Porch Ministries, and an unnamed Catholic Church Some of the hotels affected are School2bar, Blue Seasons Hotel and Suites, Sulerious Lakeside Hotel, Monero Hotel and Suites, and Lekki Hotel and Suites. TUFACE DONATES N3.5 MILLION TO THE UNITED NATIONS HIGH COMMISSION FOR REFUGEES.

            The United Nations High Commission for Refugees {UNHCR},received N3.5 million from Nigerian music Icon Tuface popularly known as Tubaba.The commission disclosed this in a statement issued by Mr Hanson Tamfu,External Relations Officer,UNHCR,Nigeria,on Monday in Abuja.He said the donation from the 2face Foundation was to support the commission in providing life-saving support to families forcibly displaced in Nigeria and across the continent,Tamfu said that Tuface expressed joy and commitment to helping the victims of insurgency who have been forced to flee their homes as a result of the unrest in the North-East.He said the musician also pledged his continuous support to UNHCR in its humanitarian assistance to the Internally Displaced Persons {IDPs} and other persons.The officer quoted Tuface as saying ''I am proud to support the UN Refugee Agency because of its proven track record of being at the fore front of displacement emergencies.''I want to help people

           The Lagos State Government is set to complete all ongoing tourism development projects in the Badagry division of the State including the reconstruction and a facelift ofthe 154 year old Heritage Museum and other slave trade monuments.The State Acting Commissioner for Tourism project sites in Badagry town to monitor the progress of rehabilitation work at the museum and other similar projects that symbolise memories of the slave trade activities in the area.The reconstruction of the heritage museum,according to her,will not affect the contents and historical value of the museum,but it will be equipped and made more functional to serve all categories of tourists,including children and the elderly upon completion. 3 CHADIAN BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS WERE ARRESTED YESTERDAY BY THE NIGERIAN ARMY & DSS.{PHOTOS}.

                                                Yesterday afternoon,Nigerian Army troops in conjuction with elements of Department of State Services {DSS} after painstaking effort of tracking arrested 3 suspected Chadian Boko Haram terrorists that belonged to Albaranawi faction,in Gombe,Gombe State.The 3 Chadian terroristss suspects,Bilal Muhammed Umar,Bashir Muhammed and Muhammed Maigari Abubakar were arrested at Arawa and Mallam Inna Areas of Gombe metropolis.They were reported to be members of Albarnawi faction of the Boko Haram that operates in Chad and mostly northern part of Borno State but came to Gombe State for another heinous assignment. During the operation,one of them,Bilal Muhammed Umar attempted to escape and was shot on the leg.He was however apprehended and is receiving medical treatment.The terrorists were also arrested with Improvised Explosive Device {IED},materials that they could have coupled and attack parts of the State.The suspects are in custody undergoing pre

                  The public is hereby notified that Aisha Shettima Nur is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission {EFCC} for money laundering.On November 14,2016,Nur,a former banker,was convicted {in absentia} on a ten count charge of money laundering.Investigations had revealed that the convict laundered monies which were the proceeds of crime through the accounts of her siblings and daughter,as well as through the purchase of vehicles and stocking of a provision shop.While the cases were ongoing at both the Federal and State High Courts,the convict had jumped bail,consequent upon which judges of both courts issued bench warrants for her arrest.Unfortunately,all efforts to arrest her by the Commission proved abortive,resulting in suspended sentencing until the convict is apprehended. EFCC RAISES ALARM OVER MISTAKEN MONEY ALERT.{PHOTOS}.

             The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,has urged the general public to be good and patriotic citizens by reporting any money deposited mistakenly into their various accounts. The Commission stated this when Dr Aliyu Usman Tilde,an academician,columnist and writer returned a draft of N900,000.00 {Nine Hundred Thousand Naira Only},to the Gombe Zonal office of the EFCC.The amount was mistakenly paid into his account.Three months after his account officer could not trace the origin of the strange alert,Dr Tilde reported the caseto the EFCC.Investigation by the EFCC however revealed that the amount belongs to a law firm that was counsel to Federal Ministry of Justice in a case that involved a former staff of Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Further investigations revealed that the clerk of the firm made a mistake in writing Dr. Tilde's firm account number when submitting bank details to the client's Ministry.Dr Tilde raised a draft of the said amount in
