 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

Heartbreaking news from Peshawar where 59 Pakistanis have lost their lives in a terror attack,including 27 police officers. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Monday that that there was "no doubt terrorism is our foremost national security challenge". Taking to Twitter after visiting Peshawar, where a bomb blast claimed the lives of at least 44 people, he said: "The sheer scale of the human tragedy is unimaginable. This is no less than an attack on Pakistan. Alleged N754.8m Fraud: Court Adjourns For Adoption of Final Written Addresses in Ex-NIMASA D-G, Akpobolokemi’s No-case Submissions Till March 6 Justice R.I.B Adebiyi of the State High Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, January 30, 2023, adjourned till March 6, 2023 for the adoption of final written addresses in relation to the no-case submissions filed by both Patrick Akpobolokemi, a former Director-General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, and Ezekiel Bala Agaba, who are facing trial over an alleged N754.8 million fraud. A passenger jet that took off from Dubai flew for 13 hours and landed at the same airport after it was forced to turn around in midair. Flight EK448 took off at 10.30am local time on Friday and was supposed to land in Auckland, New Zealand, 16 hours later. But the Emirates flight ended up landing back in Dubai just after midnight on Saturday due to severe flooding at Auckland airport. It had travelled around half of the 9,000-mile journey before it was forced to U-turn to its departure airport. A state of emergency was declared in the Kiwi city after an onslaught of torrential brought chaos to the transport hub. The airport said on Twitter: 'Auckland Airport has been assessing the damage to our international terminal and unfortunately determined that no international flights can operate today. 'We know this is extremely frustrating but the safety of passengers is our top priority.' More than 2,000 passengers were forced to stay overnight in the terminals overnight on Friday

 Michael Jackson will be played by the late icon’s 26-year old nephew Jaafar Jackson in the Antoine Fuqua-directed film biopic for Lionsgate.  Fuqua just posted a confirmation on Instagram. The singer and songwriter is the son of Jermaine Jackson, who is the brother of Michael and member of The Jackson 5.  Jaafar has been singing and dancing since age 12, and has showcased himself singing tunes from Sam Cooke to Marvin Gaye, along with originals. The Emancipation helmer signed on to next direct Michael, which has a script by John Logan. The film’s being produced by Graham King, who turned the Freddie Mercury Queen story into the blockbuster Bohemian Rhapsody.
