EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

12 PEOPLE CONFIRMED DEAD TODAY,AS A GHASTLY ACCIDENT OCCURRED AROUND AGBOR SAPELE ROAD.

                    Today wednesday,a tragic motor accident that occurred along the Agbor-Sapele road,byy the bye-pass in Benin,has reportedly claimed 12 lives.The accident involved an articulated truck,a car and a 14 seater Toyota Hiace bus marked BEN 621 YY,all said to be coming from the Delta state axis of the road.Eye witnesses who blamed the accident on break failure said the truck rammed into the bus and the car.Bodies of the victims were said to have littered the road as motorists and sympathizers made effort to rescue other victims still trapped in the wreckages of the vehicles.Many of the victims were said to have died few minutes after they were brought out of the bus.The survivors were rushed to the Benin Centra Hospital.Edo sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps ,/Mr Oluwasusi Familoni,confirmed the accident.

                 According to sources,Australians working in Britain may not be able to stay there indefinitely if they are on a lower income,under new rules due to kick in this year.The changes,which take effect from April will mean non-European workers will have to earn at least £35,000 {$72,000} a year to be allowed to settle in the UK for longer than six years.The visa move,which was first flagged in 2012,will apply to those outside the European Economic zone in a bid to break the link between working and staying permanently in Britain.It follows David Cameron government push to reduce migration numbers,with estimates the numbers of non-European skilled workers settling in Britain each year would drop from 60,000 to 20,000 under the change.Along with Indians and Americans,Australians make up the top nationalities given work visas in Britain.About 17,250 of the visas were given to Australians in 2014,but more than 12,300 of these went Australians under 30,who are on the two year you

AT LEAST 8 DIED TODAY,AS MILITANTS ATTACKED A PAKISTAN UNIVERSITY.

            Today wednesday according to some officials,a group of militants stormed a university in volatile northwestern Pakistan and killed at least eight people.The firing inside the campus is still going on and two explosions were heard.Deputy Inspector General Saeed Wazir said at least three students had been killed in the attack and a spokesman for the rescue workers said eight bodies had been recovered so far.A spokesman for the army said on twitter that ''Four of the gunmen have been killed by security forces and the army has contained the militants to two blocks inside the university''.Police said earlier that other attackers were believed to be at large on the second and third floors of the campus buildings.The militants using the cover of thick,wintry fog,scaled the walls of the Bacha Khan University in Charsadda,northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province,before entering buildings and opening fire on students and teachers in classrooms and hostels.Police Inspe

A MOTORCYCLIST ''MOHAMMED'' WAS SENTENCED TO 6 MONTHS FOR STEALING A CELL PHONE IN LAGOS.

                    According to sources,one 18 years old commercial motorcyclist,Mohammed Hassan has been sentenced to six months in prison for stealing a mobile phone valued at N1,500 and escaping from police custody.During his arraignment on January 6 by the police at a Lagos State Magistrate's Court in  Igbosere,Hassan pleaded guilty to committing both offences contrary to Sections 285 and 106 of the Criminal Law of Law State,2011.Prosecuting police officer,Ester Adesulu,had told th court that on January 2 at about 5:10pm,Hassan stole one Slok Phone valued at N1,500 property of one Halima Sanni,at shop 6,POWA Market,Obalende Police Barracks,Lagos.She said that two days later at about 5:30pm at Onikan Police Station,South West Ikoyi,Hassan escaped from the custody of Inspector Theresa Obasi.Hassan who hails from Jimata local government area of Adamastate,came to Lagos in October 2015 and works as commercial motor cyclist.He went to the complainant's shop to buy jean trousers
