 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria. INDIA HOSPITAL CONCEDES TO EL-ZAKZAKY'S DEMAND,ALLOW APPOINTED DOCTORS TO TREAT HIM.{PHOTOS}.

       The management of the Indian hospital had agreed to commence treatment of the IMN leader with doctors he had initially booked an appointment with. The management of Medanta Hospital in New Delhi, India, has yielded to the demands of the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, by allowing the doctors he initially had an a ppointment with to attend to his failing health. It was reported earlier that El-Zakzaky could soon return to Nigeria after being given a two-hour ultimatum by the Indian Government to leave the country for refusing to be treated by unknown doctors at the hospital on Wednesday. A top member of the Islamic Human Right Commission in London, who spoke with Sahara Reporters, disclosed that the management of the Indian hospital had agreed to commence treatment of the IMN leader with doctors he had initially booked an appointment with.-SAHARA REPORTERS

        President Buhari has directed the suspension from office, with immediate effect, of the Chairman of the Special Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property, Mr Okoi Obono-Obla. The suspension shall be in effect until the conclusion of ongoing ICPC investigations into a number of cases relating to Mr. Obono-Obla.

EDO STATE SPARE PARTS MARKET BURNT DOWN OVERNIGHT.{PHOTOS}.

       Goods worth several millions of naira have been destroyed in a midnight fire that razed the biggest motor spare parts market in Edo State located at Uwelu, in Egor Local Government Area of the state. The fire was said to have started at about 11:45pm Monday night, August 12th and lasted till about 4am after efforts from fire service men from the University of Benin and the Nigerian Army. Sections of the market affected by the fire were the lines were Mercedes Benz, Mazda, Ford and Toyota parts are sold. It was gathered that some of the affected traders just bought goods to fill their stores. Some of the traders were said to have collapsed when they visited the scene and saw the magnitude of their losses. One of them was said to have attempted running into the raging fire, but was stopped. One of the victims, Daniel Okungbowa, who deals in all types fuel and oil pumps, said he lost goods worth about N4 million to the fire. Another victim, Osaeruoname Festus, said they w

       BREAKING: Nigerian Prisons Service Changes Name To Correctional Service.... President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the Nigerian Correctional Service Bill into law. The Act repeals the Nigerian Prisons Service Act. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Ita Enang, disclosed this to State House correspondent in Abuja on Wednesday.    According to Channels TV ''   Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, has alleged that the condition at the Indian hospital where he and his wife, Zeenat were taken to, is worse than that of Nigeria. According to him, they were only brought to another detention facility and they do not feel safe there because a new set of doctors whom he had not made any prior arrangement with, were brought to handle his case.
