 M23 says hundreds of Burundi soldiers captured in latest Congo offensive The Rwanda-backed M23 group has captured hundreds of Burundian soldiers during its latest offensive in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a rebel official said, as clashes continued despite a warning from the Trump administration. Last week M23 entered the strategic town of Uvira near the border with Burundi, less than a week after the presidents of Congo and Rwanda met in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump and affirmed their commitment to a peace deal known as the Washington Accords. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that Rwanda's actions in eastern Congo violated the Washington Accords and vowed to "take action to ensure promises made to the President are kept". Rwanda denies supporting M23 and has blamed Congolese and Burundian forces for the renewed fighting.                                 Today saturday,Yobe State Emergency Management Agency {SEMA} organised a circumcision ceremony for boys aged from five years to 10 years at Pompomari Internally Displaced Persons {IDPs} camp in Damaturu.The Executive Secretary of SEMA,Alhaji Musa Jidawa said 60 boys were circumcised according to the tradition and custom of the people.Musa said ''Circumcision of boys as we all know is the first initiation {rite} of the boy to manhood which is his right and we have just given them this right today.The agency provided each of the circumcised boys with a blanket,a set of new cloths and a chicken as is done traditionally.We have made adequate medical arrangements at the camp clinic to provide them with medical treatment and needs for speedy healing.The agency in conjunction with the community leaders and parents agreed to circumcise them at this period of cold season because it hea...

                       The Bring Back our Girls Campaign group said yesterday friday that its members will match to Aso Rock presidential villa on January 14 2016.The march will be in protest over the claims of President Muhammad Buhari that government did not have any credible intelligence on the state or whereabouts of the kidnapped girls.Aisha Yusuf,one of the conveners of the group told journalists yesterday friday at daily sit-out session to mark Day 627 since the girls were taken from their school's dormitory in Chibok,January 14 would be exactly 21 months since the incidence took place.The peaceful march she said is being organised to know the next step of government in rescue of the girls.The group also expressed disappointment that President Buhari did not say anything about the missing girls in his New Year message to Nigerians.One more photo below.                    ...
