 Noise pollution: Lagos seals five churches, 19 hotels The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has temporarily shut down no fewer than five churches and 19 hotels over noise pollution between March 23 and April 26  Calculations by our correspondent also showed that no fewer than four markets and shopping complexes were also shut down over noise pollution and other environmental infractions.         A woman has landed in a hospital after she was allegedly attacked by her ex-lover in Anambra state. It was gathered that the woman identified as Nkiru Okoye had been formerly married, but broke up with her spouse, before falling in love with her ex-lover. The young man in question is said to be younger than her, hence his family insisted that their son would never marry an older girl. The lady’s family also concurred, but the young man wouldn’t give up, it was alleged. According to Tobenna Obiano, things got so bad when the lady insisted that they must path ways to respect their families and their excuse of age.       The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Air Task Force (ATF) for OPERATION DIRAN MIKIYA has notched up another series of successful operations against armed bandits in the Northwest of the country. The successes were recorded in recent air interdiction and armed reconnaissance missions conducted from 9 to 11 August 2018, resulting in the neutralization of armed bandits in Sububu Forest, Birnin   Magaji and Rugu Forest in Zamfara State. The attack at Sububu Forest was executed on the afternoon of 9 August 2018 following the discovery of a bandits’ hideout within the Forest. Earlier in the morning on the same day, the ATF had conducted a coordinated clearance operation involving NAF Special Forces at a suspected armed bandits’ camp on the outskirts of Galadi in the Northwest of Zamfara State. During this operation, the bandits were discovered to have vacated the camp and dispersed into the nearby Sububu Forest.              A Senior Special Adviser to the Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano, on Audio-Visual Production, Hon. Randy Chima, age 57 is dead. He was said to have found dead few days ago in his Nwakpodulu Avenue home Awka, the Anambra State Capital. According to the police report, the dead of the SSA was reported to B Division, Awka, that one Randy Chima male, age 57, of Nwakpodulu Avenue Awka, slept the previous night and did not open his door the next day. When the door was eventually forced opened after several knocks by his neighbours, his lifeless body was found laying on the bed. Following the report, Police detectives attached the B Division, led by the DCO visited the scene, photographed the victim and rushed him to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Awka where he was certified dead by a medical doctor. LAGOS UNVEILS SIGN LANGUAGE POSTERS TO BRIDGE COMMUNICATION GAPS.

      Lagos State Government has unveiled sign language posters to aid easy communication between persons living with hearing impairments and other members of the society. Speaking at the unveiling of the sign language posters at Alausa Ikeja, today, the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Agboola Dabiri stated that the first phase of the initiative would specifically address communication issues between the affected persons and service providers in hospitals, police stations, Front Desk offices and Banks. Agboola explained that the posters were developed in response to the needs of affected persons who had often suffered undue injustice and neglect arising from their inability to make their plight known to those who would assist them.
