 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

AT LEAST 52 PEOPLE DIED,AFTER RIOT ERUPTED AT A PRISON IN NORTHERN MEXICO,TODAY.

                        Today thursday about an hour ago according to sources,a riot erupted at a prison in northern Mexico,killing at least 52 people and 12 others injured.The violence at Topo Chico Prison in Monterrey began shortly after midnight,and residents told local news outlets that they had heard explosions and shouting from inside the prison.The death toll,which is believed to include inmate as well as prison guards,could not be confirmed.The government said no prisoners escaped.Soldiers,state police officers  and the Monterrey police surrounded the prison as relatives of the inmates gathered outside to wait for news.The riot was brought under control around 1;30 am Mexico time.More photos below.

THE NIGERIAN ARMY,INTERCEPTED BOKO HARAM MEMBERS YESTERDAY,AND SEIzED THEIR SUPPLIES.

                  A statement by the spokesman pf the Nigerian Army,Sani Usman said that the troops while on operation at a cattle market yesterday wednesday morning,intercepted the insurgents and seized the supplies.''In continuation of their clearance operations of remnants of Boko Haram terrorists in the North East,troops of 212 Tank Battalion,29 Task Force Brigade,early this morning laid an ambush on some Boko Haram elements at a major cattle market in Gwai Mainari around Mainok general area.The ambush party supported by a quick Response Group {QRG},captured a Hilux vehicle containing 8 jerry cans of petroleum,oil and lubricants,large quantity of 7.62mm ammuitions,127mm ammunitions and 4 AK-47 rifles,as well as 5 hand grenades.Some of the terrorists were killed while others escaped with gunshot wounds.It is important to note that more operational strategies are being employed to further flush out the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists wherever they might be hiding in the Nor

100,000 NIGERIANS,ARE LIVING OUTSIDE NIGERIA AS REFUGEES-U.S ASSISTANT SECRETARY SAID SO TODAY.

                            According to Ms Linda Thomas-Greenfield,the U.S Assistant Secretary for African Affairs,today thursday said that about 100,000 Nigerians were currently living outside Nigeria as refugees in neighbouring countries.Thomas-Linda,who announced this to Journalists from across Africa in a telepress conference,said that Boko Haram attacks had forced more than one million Nigerians out of their homes.According to her,these people have serious concerns that urgently need to be addressed ''More than a million Nigerians have been forced from their homes.Close to 100,000 Nigerians are living outside of Nigeria as refugees.Thousands of families,ordinary people,have been impacted by Boko Haram.And these people have serious concerns that urgently need to be addressed''.She said further that ''There was multifaceted effort in place to deal with security issues as well as dealing with the root causes.We're also working with governments to look at
