  Nigeria Qualify for AFCON final The Super Eagles have advanced to the final of the African Cup of Nations after beating South Africa on penalties at the Stade de la Paix (Stadium of Peace) in Bouake, Ivory Coast The Eagles took the lead after skipper William Troost Ekong converted the penalty won by striker Victor Osimhen. South Africa star player Mokoena equalised in the 90th minute sending the game to extra time, the extra time ended in stalemate and the game advanced to penalties.  Nigeria’s goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali saved two penalties, while Kelechi Iheanacho scored the winning penalty to send the Eagles to the final.   Court orders Nigerian Govt to fix prices of goods, petroleum products A Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, has ordered the President Bola Tinubu administration to fix the prices of goods and petroleum products within seven days. Justice Ambose Lewis-Allagoa granted the order sequel to an originating motion filed and argued by the applicant and human rights activist, Femi Falana, SAN.  An Enugu State High Court has sentenced Chiamaka Ifezue to d£ath by hanging for the m¥rder of a 27-year-old makeup artist, Ijeoma Nneke.  The court presided over by Honourable Justice Kenneth Okpe, in a two-hour judgement on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, found the accused, Chiamaka Ifezue, guilty of k!!ling the victim by forcing her to drink a p@isonous substance.  Recall that Ijeoma went missing after leaving home for a job on November 11, 2020.  Her mutilated c@rpse was later found around Maryland in Enugu metropolis on November 16.  Ifezue and her brother, Chukwuemeka, were arrested and arraigned before the court on a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and m¥rder in 202.  They were accused of forcing Nneke to drink a p@isonous substance that caused her death. The Ch-53E Super Stallion departed Creech Airforce base near Las Vegas Tuesday night in route to Miramar Miramar is near San Diego.  They have not been seen since with the military notifying San Diego Sheriff's department around 1:50 a.m. The Sheriff's department sent out their own chopper to search but were unable to reach the area due to conditions.  They have now sent off-road vehicles to search the rugged terrain. 

 Alabama man suing the Jefferson County Sheriff's office after allegedly having a hand amputated due to being improperly handcuffed.  Giovanni Loyola claims police cuffed him for no reason initially and then left him cuffed for many hours, ignoring his pleas to loosen the cuffs. Giovanni's doctors agree his amputation was completely a direct result from hours of zero blood circulation.  The incident occurred in February of 2020 when police were called to Loyola's mothers home to reports of shots fired. Loyola said he was in the home watching TV when police knocked on the door. He claims he answered and told them he hadn't fired any shots and was watching TV.  Florida woman steals police cruiser and leads authorities on a high-speed chase ending in the tragic death of 2 innocent people.  Marion County Florida Sheriff's office were called out last Thursday to a suspicious person report. When the deputy arrived on scene he ordered 33-year-old Kendra Boone to the back of his vehicle. As the deputy exited his vehicle to speak to Boone, she jumped through the passenger side window and into the SUV and took off. Deputy Chris Witte attempted to stop Boone on scene chasing after her and unsuccessfully trying to pull her out. She accelerated away from Witte and exited the parking lot.  EFCC Raises Special Task Force against Dollarization of Economy & Mutilation of Currency    The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has raised a Special Task Force in all its Zonal Commands for the enforcement of extant laws against currency mutilation and dollarization of the economy.   The Task Force, inaugurated by the Executive Chairman of the Commission, Ola Olukoyede, was raised to protect the economy from abuses, leakages and distortions exposing it to instability and disruption   Already, the Commission has made some arrests  of perpetrators of issuance of invoices in dollars and mutilation of the Naira in Lagos and Port Harcourt.    Also, proprietors of private Universities and other institutions of higher learning charging fees in dollars have been invited by the Commission.    The Commission is committed to the enforcement of all laws in place for the reflation and stimulation of the economy.

 Abeokuta-Ota-Lagos Expressway: We Are Ready To Mobilise To Site-Commissioner The Ogun State Government said it has concluded arrangements to mobilise contractors to the site for the reconstruction of the Abeokuta-Ota-Lagos Expressway.
