  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.                                                                                                                      The Nigerian Army wishes to regrettably inform the public that Colonel Samaila Inusa who was kidnapped on sunday the 27th of March 2016,was found dead today at about 6.00pm.Pre;iminary investigation revealed that most likely the late senior officer was killed same day he was kidnapped by his abductors.This is because the body was found already decomposing around Ajyaita village off Eastern Bypass Kaduna,Kaduna State.Arrangements are in progress to move the body to 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital,Kaduna.May soul rest in peace,Amen.We wish to state in unmistakeable terms that whoever is behind hid abduction and murder would be fished out to face the full wrath of the law.-Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman,Acting Director,Army Public Relations.                                  

AN HIPPOPOTAMUS WAS RECENTLY SPOTTED AT A PRIVATE POOL IN SOUTH AFRICA.

                  It's so funny to see an Hippopotamus swimming in a private pool in South Africa.Staff at Ingewela,a private nature reserve in South Africa were shocked to find a hippopotamus cooling off from the heat in the swimming pool.A staff identified as 60 year old Judy,who has worked at Ingwelala for the last 18 months said she has never in her life seen a hippo in a swimming pool.She said ''My partner Robere and other staff gently used the pool brushes to guide the hippo to the steps and it just walked up the steps and wondered off into the bush''.More photos below.                               

32 JUDGES IN EGYPT,WERE FORCED TO RETIRE YESTERDAY MONDAY.

                  According to sources,32 Egyptian Judges were forced to retire yesterday monday by the Egyptian Supreme Judicial Council for having opposed the army's ouster of Islamist President Mohamed Morsi in 2013.Sources said Morsi was overthrown by then army Chief who is now the President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi,and since then,the country's authorities have cracked down on all forms of dissent,including secularists and liberals.Last week the council had taken similar action against 15 other judges for the same reason.The judges have been on suspension since March 2015 after a lower panel of the council ordered that they be sent into retirement.Yesterday monday,the council upheld that order.The council said that some of the judges openly declared their opposition to Morsi's ousters at the time in a signed statement at Cairo's Rabaa al-Adawiya Square.One more photo below.                      

3 PEOPLE KILLED IN AN OIL PIPELINE EXPLOSION ON SUNDAY IN BAYELSA STATE.

                   Today tuesday,it was reported that three people were killed and several others wounded when an oil pipeline belonging to Italy's ENI exploded during repair works in the Delta region of Nigeria.The explosion happened in the Olugboboro community in Bayelsa state on sunday but bodies were only recovered yesterday monday after the fire was brought under control and seven people were reportedly wounded.Alagoa Morris who is an {ERA} activist said ''The news of another tragic incident in the oil industry which claimed three lives came to the Environmental Rights Action {ERA} as a great shock.We in ERA will not stop calling on the authorities and regulators of the oil industry to make safety and best practices the mantra of the industry,not just profit {seeking}''.The group and residents said workers hand been repairing the pipeline when it caught fire.There was no immediate comment from ENI.One more photo below.                                          

1 PERSON DEAD AFTER YINKA AYEFELE'S BAND BUS WAS INVOLVED IN A GHASTLY ACCIDENT,ON SATURDAY.{PHOTOS}.

                  On Saturday night a day before Easter Musician Yinka Ayefele,was involved in a ghastly accident when one of the trucks conveying musical equipment entered a deep pot hole along Lagos Ibadan expressway and swerved off the road into a deep ditch,killing one of the engineering crew aboard while several others sustained various degree of injuries.The deceased 39 year old Mr Tunde Oduneye was confirmed dead at the University College Hospital {UCH},AROUND 11:00pm on sunday.The Merry Makers band ,according to a release signed by the Publicist of the band,Mr David Ajiboye,had been contracted to perform at the wedding ceremony of the daughter of Olu Amore,a Commissioner of Police before the truck conveying the equipment back to Ibandan had the accident shortly after the old toll plaza at Ogere.A visibly shocked leader of the band,Yinka Ayefele,was seen being consoled by sympathizers at the Accident and Emergency ward of the UCH where injured members of the crew were being trea
