 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria. 2 ARMED ROBBERS ATTEMPTED TO ROB ECO BANK WERE SHOT DEAD BY THE POLICE IN PORT-HARCOURT.

             Yesterday wednesday,two persons suspected to be armed robbers who attempted to rob Eco bank branch by Agip junction along Ikwerre road in Port Harcourt,Rivers state were shot dead by policemen.The Rivers police command confirmed the shooting incident but did not give details,but eye witnesses said the driver of the vehicle that conveyed the suspected robbers managed to escape when the gang came under fire power from the policemen who got intelligence report of the suspected gang of robbers.Eye witnesses said ''All i heard was gunshots,the drive of the red car and the persons killed ran towards the school {Government Girls School,Rumueme} and escaped,one of them was shot dead instantly while another one who tried to escape was also shot dead''.

NIGERIAN UNION OF TEACHERS IN OSUN STATE,GAVE AREGBESOLA 14 DAYS ULTIMATUM BEFORE THEY STRIKE INDEFINITELY

                                                            Osun chapter of Union of Teachers {NUT}in a letter sent a letter to Governor Rauf Aregbesola that gave the governor 14 days if he fails to provide their outstanding allowances,release running grants and provide instructional materials in schools or they embark on an indefinite strike.The letter was signed by the Union Chairman,Comrade Olawuyi Emmanuel,that ''In out last communique issued on 14 October 2014,jointly signed by the NUT and ANCOPSS,we requested the state government to honour and give immediate attention to following demands.We also demanded the provision of instructional materials to schools,release of current examination and previous running grants to schools,and the payment of leave grants of secondary schools teachers since December 2013.In the same communique,we could recall that the NUT humbly requested that the state government or its representative to invite the leadership of the union for a dialogue

PRESIDENT BARRACK OBAMA,DEMANDS $6.18 BILLION FROM U.S CONGRESS TO COMBAT EBOLA VIRUS.

             Yesterday wednesday,President Barack Obama asked the U.S Congress to approve $6.18 billion dollars in a new emergency funds to combat Ebola virus where it is raging in West Africa and as well as in the United States.Documents provided to the U.S Congress states that the administration wants Law makers to provide $4.5 billion in funds for immediate response to the deadly disease and another $1.5 billion in contingency money.House of Representative speaker John Boehner said,Obama said that his top priority is to protect the health and safety of Americans and the request would cover that.''Over the longer term,my administration recognise that the best way to prevent additional cases at home will be to contain and eliminate the epidemic at it's source in Africa''.More photos below.
