        As part of the ongoing reconstruction of Ikorodu Road, (Mile 12 - Ketu), the Lagos State Government has announced that there will be partial closure of a section of the BRT Lane at Ketu for 14 working days, effective from Monday, September 14, 2020. In a statement issued today by the Honourable Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, the partial closure is to allow the contractor handling the project to commence construction of additional Relief Culverts across the road at Ketu Bus Stop from Monday 14th of September, 2020. He explained that the BRT buses that operate on the Ketu axis will be diverted to the service lane from Oluwalogbon Street Junction during the construction period, adding that the personnel of Lagos State Traffic Management Agency, LASTMA, would be available to direct traffic and ensure the free flow of vehicular movements.           Anambra State Joint Task Force have commenced removal of illegal structures on government land in Igbariam, Anambra East Council Area. Members of the task force including the State Physical Planning Board and relevant security agencies took bulldozer to the area which is government land, originally acquired and designated as Igbariam Farm Settlement. Recall that on the 6th of August, 2020, the task force embarked on mass marking of the encroached lands, inspite of which unknown individuals continued to erect structures on portions of the land without government approval.More photos below.

          The Lagos zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has commenced investigations of a suspected fraudster for concealing 2,886 Automated Teller Machine(ATM) cards and four Subscriber Identification Module( SIM) cards in noodles. The suspect: Ishaq Abubakar was handed over to the EFCC by the Nigeria Customs Service on Thursday, September 10, 2020 for investigation and prosecution. Abubakar got into trouble when he was arrested by officers of the Customs Service at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on his way to Dubai with 2, 886 Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards and four Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) cards carefully concealed in parks of noodles.
