 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

                  Justtice M.B Idris of the Federal High Court Ikoyi today monday June 20,2016 granted bail to Waripam-Owei Emmanuel Dudafa and Iwejuo Josepph Nna aka Taiwo A Ebenezer and Olugbenga Isaiah.Dudafa,Senior Special Assistant,Domestic Matters to the former president,Jonathan was alleged to have laundered ill gotten wealth to the tune of over N1,667,162,800,00 {One billion,six hundred and sixty seven million,one hundred and sixty two thousand,eight hundred Naira} through Ebiwise Resources Limited,Avalon Global Property Development Company Limted,Rotato Inter-Link Services Ltd and Pluto Property & Investment Company Ltd accounts with the assistance of the second accused,Iwejuo Joseph Nna,the account officer of the said accounts and presently a branch manager of a new generation bank.One more photo below.

              The EFCC today monday June 20,2016,arraigned Favour Omeigba Bello {F} before Justice {Prof} Chuka Augustine Obiozor of the Federal High Court of Lagos State,Ikoyi on 3 count charge bordering on attempt to export counterfeit,Possession of counterfeit and forgery.The accused,Bello was arrested by officials of the NDLEA on January 16,2016 at the Murtala Muhammed Internationall Airport,Ikeja,Lagos,during the outward clearance of passengers on Ethiopian Airline to Dubai and was later transferred t the EFCC for further investigation.Favour was alleged to have in her possession as at the time of arrest Two Hundred and Ninety Eight pieces counterfeited Traveler's cheques of various foreign banks,one Green Nigerian passport number A06961064 belonging to Aluya Mary Jennifer,one Green Ghanaian passport number G0843377 belonging to Koffi Nicole,one Driver's Licence bearing the name Okeke Charles,one National Identity card bearing the name Aluya Mary Jennifer,all concealed in

DONALD TRUMP FIRED HIS CAMPAIGN MANAGER,THAT HELPED HIM WIN THE REPUBLICAN PARTY PRESIDENTIAL CONTEST.

                  Today monday,it was reported that Donald Trump fired Corey Lewandowski,the campaign manager who helped him win the Republican Party's presidential nominating contests but has clashed with other advisers about how to appeal to the broader general electorate.Lewandowski was often at odds with Paul Manafort,a prominent strategist Trump hired in April partly for having experience on presidential campaigns that Lewandowski lacked,according to people close to the campaign.Manafort will take over as campaign manager,according to Carl Paladino,the co-chairman of the campaign's operations in New York state.Lewandowski had been a near-constant presence at Trump's side since the campaign was launched last year.He did not immediately respond to a request for comment,but in a brief statement read on CNN,Lewandowski said ''I stand by the fact that Mr Trump is a great candidate and is better than Hillary Clinton ever will be''.More photos below.

FIRE DESTROYED A-LOT OF IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS AT THE KADUNA MINISTRY OF JUSTICE TODAY.

                 The fire at the Kaduna Ministry of Justice,started about 2:am and it destroyed a lot of important documents.The fire affected no fewer than 12 offices at the top floor of the building that housed the ministry including that of the Kaduna State Attorney General.The Fire Service Brigade arrived the scene on time to put the fire under control and eventually prevented it from spreading to other buildings that housed other ministries in the area.The cause of the fire will be announced,after investigations.

IJAW MILITANTS STORMED IKORODU TODAY,SHOOTING INDISCRIMINATELY WHILE RESIDENTS ABANDONED THEIR HOMES.{PHOTO

                 Today monday according to sources,residents of Elegbete and surrounding villages in Ikorodu,Lagos State have abandoned their homes following the invation of the area by gunmen,suspected to be Ijaw militants.Residents reported indiscriminate shootings by the invaders leading to the closure of schools,markets and shops.The militants were said to have struck between 9 am and 10 am today.Heavy gunshots filled the air as residents ran to safety,while schools,shops and businesses were hurriedly shut by their owners to avoid being shot.Anxious parents ran to the schools to take heir children home while the police and army have taken over the area to provide security.A police source disclosed that the attack was carried out by Ijaw boys,adding that the Commissioner of Police had deployed a large number of mobile policemen to the area to maintain peace.More photos below.

NIGERIAN ARMY DURING THEIR CLEARANCE YESTERDAY,WERE AMBUSHED BY BOKO HARAM,INJURING 5 SOLDIERS IN BORNO.

                 Troops of 114 Task Force Battalion of 28 Task Force Brigade in conjunction with members of vigilante group in an effort to keep the road open and secure yesterday sunday the 19th Junee 2016,carried out a clearance operation along Bitta-Damboa axis.The troops carried out clearance patrol from Bitta up to Junction point at Gambori village,Borno state.During the operation,the troops encountered Boko Haram terrorists at Bulajani village and successfully cleared and pursued the fleeing Boko Haram terrorists in the area.Unfortunately,the troops ran into an ambush which was eventuslly cleared enroute back from the pursuit.Unfortunately,5 soldiers were wounded in the process and their Buffalo vehicle was badly damaged.The troops killed 4 Boko Haram terroists,while an unconfirmed number escaped with gun shot wounds.The patrol recovered 6 bicycles and food storage facility laden with foodstuffs.They also discovered and safely detonated 1 Improvised Explosive Device {IED} at Madu

             On-going construction of Abule Egba,Ajah fly overs in an efforts to address traffic congestion in major parts of the state.The Lagos State Executive Council under the leadership of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in December last year approved the construction of flyover for two of the State's high density traffic zones-Ajah round about and Abule Egba junction.The two major projects shortly after approval were duly awarded to contractors for a speedy commencement of work.in Ajah,the constructionof the reinforced concrete flyover and signalized intersection at Ajah roundabout is being simultaneaously constructed with the rehabilitation of Freedom Road in Lekki,with a view to reducing the heavy traffic being recorded at the Ajah round-about and the Lekki-Ikoyi axis.Likewise,the construction of a reinforced concrete dual carriage flyover bridge at Abule Egba junction will equally bring joy and relief to millions of commuters that use the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway in Ifako-Ijaye

LAGOS GOVT WARNS RESIDENTS TODAY,TO KEEP OFF OGUN RIVER THAT MYSTERIOUSLY DRIED UP LAST WEEK.{PHOTOS}.

                                                       The Lagos State Government today monday warned residents to keep off the Ogun River,near the Kara Cattle Market which was recently blocked by vegetation,saying that the river could open up at anytime with dire consequences.Last weekend,the river was taken over by vegetation,caused by a heavy storm,which created a compacted layer over the river.Residents in the ares were stunned by the incident and turned the area to a tourist site of some sort,with some residents seen walking on the blocked river and taking pictures.But the State Government in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development,Engr.                       He made this statement yesterday sunday during a church service.He said ''There are those who are telling you to remove me and vote for them but people are able to judge who is a good leader.The economy is getting better,the rains came and we now have enough food.Those who were laughing at us have now seen that God works in miraculous ways.God is wonderful''.He further asked the church to take advantage of the huge crowds he had attracted to preach to them the word of Christ.President Edgar Lungu was in company of his wife Esther Lungu and some high ranking government officials.Zambia will hold general elections in August 2016 but my question is that was he not putting God first before these election date?.One more photo below.
