The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. Adeniyi of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, sitting in Apo, Abuja on Friday, September 20, 2019 remanded Mrs. Grace Taiga, a female accomplice in the multiple fraud, involving P&ID in Suleja Prison. She is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. Mrs.Taiga, a former director, Legal Services in the Ministry of Petroleum Resources was a key actor in the fraudulent Gas Supply and Processing Agreement (GSPA) between the federal government and P&ID. She is alleged to have used her position to administer undue favours to the company. She was arraigned on an eight-count amended charges, bordering on accepting bribes and other related crimes.       Tipper truck crushes two men to death in Nnewi (graphic photos) Two men died when a speeding tipper truck ran over them along new Nnewi/Nnobi road on Wednesday August 18. The victim were identified as Anayo, an electrician and Mr. Aneke, a commercial motorcyclist. According to an eyewitness, the tipper driver fled the scene of the terrible accident. He said... ''A terrible accident took place along new Nnewi/Nnobi (Amuko towards Edey work) road by Ukwu Ukpaka junction. The tipper was driving towards Amuko Junction, all of a sudden, the tipper started moving backwards on a high speed. Maybe it developed fault and enter reverse gear. The ugly incident took two precious lives away. One is Anayo,a husband to a nursing mother (an electrician) and the second one Mr. Aneke (an Okada man).
