The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.        Justice D.Z. Senchi, of a Federal Capital Territory, (FCT) High Court, sitting in Jabi has granted the prayers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, for a warrant of arrest against Dan Etete, a former Minister of Petroleum, and Mohammed Adoke, a former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, who were implicated in the Malabu Oil scandal. Also declared wanted were Raph Wetzels, Casu la Roberto, Pujato Stefeno, and Burrato Sebastiano. They were meant to be arraigned before Justice Senchi on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 to face charges related to the Malabu Oil Scandal but failed to show up. The EFCC had since 2017 pressed charges against Shell Nigeria Exploration Production Co.        As part of activities lined up to improve safe vehicular movement and mitigate crashes before, during, and after the Easter celebration; the Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has approved the massive deployment of personnel, both regular and special marshals, to address wrong road usage by motorists and ensure free flow of traffic on all major highways across the country. Total number of regular and special marshals deployed are 35,000 while over 200 mobile courts are also put in place.
