 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

MALABU: COURT ORDERS ARREST OF DAN ETETE,MOHAMMED ADOKE,OTHERS.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

       Justice D.Z. Senchi, of a Federal Capital Territory, (FCT) High Court, sitting in Jabi has granted the prayers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, for a warrant of arrest against Dan Etete, a former Minister of Petroleum, and Mohammed Adoke, a former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, who were implicated in the Malabu Oil scandal. Also declared wanted were Raph Wetzels, Casu la Roberto, Pujato Stefeno, and Burrato Sebastiano. They were meant to be arraigned before Justice Senchi on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 to face charges related to the Malabu Oil Scandal but failed to show up. The EFCC had since 2017 pressed charges against Shell Nigeria Exploration Production Co. Ltd, Nigeria Agip Exploration Limited, Eni Spa, Raph Wetzels, Casula Roberto, Pujato Stefeno, Burrato Sebastiano, Duazia Louya Etete (aka Dan Etete), Mohammed Bello Adoke, Aliyu Abubakar and Malabu Oil & Gas Limited. FRSC DEPLOYS 35, 000 PERSONNEL AND 200 MOBILE COURTS FOR EASTER SPECIAL OPERATIONS.#PRESS RELEASE.

       As part of activities lined up to improve safe vehicular movement and mitigate crashes before, during, and after the Easter celebration; the Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has approved the massive deployment of personnel, both regular and special marshals, to address wrong road usage by motorists and ensure free flow of traffic on all major highways across the country. Total number of regular and special marshals deployed are 35,000 while over 200 mobile courts are also put in place. According to the spokesman of the Commission, Bisi Kazeem, the proactive Patrol and Rescue Operations which is billed to commence from Thursday 18th April to Tuesday, 23rd April, 2019 will cover 52 Corridors across the federation.      According to two sources,'' Chief Frank Anthony Igboka, the President General of Nimo Town Development Union NTDU of Njikoka Local Government Area in Anambra state, has be en allegedly assassinated by unknown persons. He was also a one time member of Anambra State House of Assembly.        The Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) on Tuesday presented the Certificate of Return to the re-elected Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike at the commission's headquarters in Port Harcourt. Governor Wike was re-elected by the good people of Rivers State on March 9, 2019 with the Collation of Governorship Election results concluded on April 3, 2019. INEC Returning Officer, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Federal University, Otuoke, Prof Teddy Adias declared Governor Wike winner after he polled 886,264 votes, to defeat African Alliance Congress candidate, Biokpomabo Awara who scored 173,859 votes.
