      OFFICE OF THE VICE PRESIDENT PRESS RELEASE REPORT INSINUATING VICE PRESIDENT DIDN'T FOLLOW DUE PROCESS IN SUPERVISION OF AGENCIES UNDER HIM IS FALSE (Re: Buhari directs Osinbajo to seek approvals for agencies under him) Our attention has been drawn to a sensational report by The Cable published on September 17, 2019, which claims that His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, has directed Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, to seek approvals for agencies under him. The report suggests, falsely, that agencies under the supervision of the Vice President do not normally comply with established rules where presidential approvals are required. This is obviously misleading and aims only to plant seeds of discord in the Presidency, while attempting to create unnecessary national hysteria. The agencies in question are established by law and the Vice President has always insisted on due compliance with the enabling statutes and other established regulations. ...

      In its war against internet fraud, officers of the Cyber Crime Section at the Abuja Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, September 9, 2019 raided the residences of suspected yahoo-yahoo fraudsters at House 16 Yashin Dogara News Engineering, Dawaki, Abuja. In the same vein, arrests were carried out on the 13th of September at Nepa Road, Phase 4, Kubwa and at No 18 Samuel Crescent, Dantata Estate Kubwa,  Abuja. The raid followed covert intelligence gathering and tip offs from already arrested suspects. The suspects arrested are Iloh Joseph and Emeka Jonathan. In the course of the operation, some of the items recovered include mobile phones, laptop computers, and a Toyota corolla. The suspects are cooperating with the Commission. They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.More photos below.

       The Lagos state police command has arrested 23-year-old Stella Peters for stabbing her husband, Haruna Bala, to death today Tuesday September 17th. A statement released by the spokesperson of the police command, Bala Elkana, says the couple who were not legally married, lived together at No 2 Tejuosho Avenue, Surulere lagos, for three years and have a Baby who just turned one. An argument ensued between them which turned violent and the woman used a kitchen knife to stab the man in the back which led to his death. Bala says the woman accused the man of refusing to release money for their daughter's birthday party. Homicide detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department Yaba have taken over the investigation. The suspect confessed to the commission of the Crime. She will be charged to Court for murder. .

     Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said his administration’s development agenda was aimed at leveraging the population of the State for sustainable socio-economic development. The Governor said although the State was facing the challenges of growing population, his administration was prepared to turn the burden to opportunities by training people and equipping them with life skills. Sanwo-Olu disclosed this on Monday while hosting the Consul General of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Chu Maoming, in Alausa on a courtesy visit.       Wife of the Governor of Lagos State, Dr.(Mrs.) Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday flagged-off a free surgical intervention programme for residents, as part of activities commemorating the 100 days in office of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's administration.      As part of its humanitarian efforts aimed at assuaging the plight of victims of the recent flood disasters that ravaged some parts of Adamawa State, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), today, 16 September 2019, commenced a 3-day medical outreach in Wauru Jabbe Community in Yola South Local Government Area (LGA) of Adamawa State. The outreach, which is taking place at the Wauru Jabbe Primary School, is being coordinated by the NAF Medical Services Branch, in compliance with the directives of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, for the Branch to provide medical assistance and relief materials to the affected communities. The outreach would cater for the medical needs of about 60,000 persons, including women, children and the aged, in order to avert outbreak of diseases as well as provide needed healthcare services.       Operatives of the Uyo Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested three men in Uyo the Akwa Ibom State Capital, for allegedly impersonating operatives of both the Economic and financial Crimes Commission, EFCC and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC. The arrested suspects are Norbert Rampa, 51; Patrick Essien, 50; and Gabriel Daniel, 32. Rampa, Essien and Daniel, along with other members of their team had paid a courtesy visit to the Commissions office in Uyo, on September 19, 2018, under the Grassroot Development Advocacy Initiative (GDAI) which they claim was a registered organisation, under the auspices of National Anti-corruption Coalition (NACC).     The acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, Ibrahim Magu is alarmed by the brazen attempt by former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Bello Adoke to rewrite history and portray himself as victim of persecution regarding the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission's investigation of the OPL 245 Settlement Agreement. In the last few days the Nigerian media has been awash with previews of Adoke's book, titled: "Burden of Service: Reminiscences of Nigeria's former Attorney General," in which he took aim at the EFCC boss as being part of a deadly triumvirate that had been hounding and persecuting him since he left office in 2015.     President Muhammadu Buhari has dissolved the Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property (SPIP) as currently constituted with Mr. Okoi Obono-Obla as Chairman. The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice has been directed to immediately take over all outstanding investigations and other activities of the SPIP. The panel was established in August 2017 by the then Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN to investigate specifically mandated cases of corruption, abuse of office and similar offences by public officers. President Buhari thanks all members of the dissolved panel for their services. The President looks forward to receiving the final Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) report on the ongoing investigations of the dissolved panel’s Chairman.
