The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.       The fight against the spread of the COVID-19 across the State recently received a boost when the Lagos State government deployed equipment to all the 57 LG/LCDAs for sanitation and disinfection of public spaces and surfaces such as markets and bus stops, among others. The Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Dr. Wale Ahmed, who spoke during the deployment of the equipment to all the  20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas, urged the leadership to complement the efforts of the State Government in making the entire metropolis safe and secure. He called on Conference 57, comprising all the Local Council Chairmen, to sustain the sanitation exercise, stressing that the State Government is aggressive in its attempt to combat the pandemic and reminding them of the need to take up the responsibility of ensuring a safe and healthy environment. Here in Benue State, my administration took proactive measures in February by constituting the Action Committee on COVID-19 to monitor suspected cases, create mass awareness with the people, liaise with the Federal Government and relevant stakeholders to curb the spread of the virus in the state. From the first signs that Coronavirus, or COVID-19 was turning into an epidemic and was officially declared a world-wide emergency, the Federal Government started planning preventive, containment and curative measures in the event the disease hits Nigeria. 3.       Muhammadu Sanusi II, the former emir of Kano, and his wives have tested negative for the novel coronavirus. On Saturday, Nasir el-Rufai, the governor of Kaduna state and friend of Sanusi, disclosed that he had tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). In the last 14 days before the test, Sanusi and el-Rufai have had numerous meetings and physical contacts, including a four-hour drive from Awe,  Nasarawa state to Abuja.         Ghana’s president, Nana Akufo-Addo and his Vice, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia have donated three months of their salaries to the country’s battle against the deadly coronavirus pandemic. President Akufo-Addo announced the establishment of a COVID-19 Fund in a Friday night address to the nation in which he also declared partial lockdown of the country. The fund which will be headed by Ghana’s former C hief Justice is to receive public contributions towards the battle to stem the spread of the virus in Ghana. Ghana’s COVID-19 confirmed cases are 141 as of Sunday, March 29, 2020, including five deaths, according to the health authorities. COVID-19: OGUN ANNOUNCES CLOSURE OF BORDERS.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

      Ogun State Government has announced the closure of its borders with the neighbouring states and the international border with the Republic of Benin. The closure will be effected at 12 Midnight on Sunday, 29th March, 2020. It will be in force for two weeks in the first instance. With this restriction order, movement in and out of the state is thus banned as a further measure to contain the corona virus pandemic. SANWO-OLU TAKES DELIVERY OF 110-BED ISOLATION CENTRE JOINTLY BUILT WITH GTBANK.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

       Lagos State Government has taken delivery of a 110-bed isolation facility on the Lagos Island, where confirmed cases of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the State can be managed and treated. The facility was conceived and built in collaboration with the management of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank). Managing Director of GTBank, Mr. Segun Agbaje, on Saturday, personally handed over the hospital fac ility to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, five days after the bank started the construction of the isolation centre sited on the main bowl of the Mobolaji Olufunsho Johnson Stadium in Onikan. Governor Sanwo-Olu praised the bank’s management for the speed with which the structure was built, disclosing that the facility was equipped with “world-class” equipment and medical supplies that would aid the State Government to deliver adequate care to those infected with COVID-19.
