 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

AMBODE COMMISSIONED 3 NEWLY ACQUIRED EXECUTIVE BOATS TODAY+LAGOS TARGETS 2MILLION PASSENGERS ON WATER DAILY.{PHOTOS}.

       Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode on Sunday commissioned three newly acquired executive boats by the State Government, with a pledge to fully explore the tourism and economic potentials of the waterways in the State for the overall benefit of the people. Speaking at the unveiling of the boats held at Caverton Jetty in Civic Centre area of Victoria Island, the Governor said the State Government was committed to the implementation of the integrated transport management system designed to scale up water, rail and land transportation, saying that the grand plan is to divert at least two million passengers on the waterways daily thereby reducing traffic on the road. He said the boats and four Jet Skis recently acquired by the State Government to ensure safety and fight crime on the waterways were prelude to major plans to fully activate the potentials of water transportation, while in coming months, the State Government would take delivery of additional seven commerci

      The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall have been visiting beautiful Malaysia over the past two days - Their Royal Highnesses’ first visit to the country. The welcome for TRH has been fantastic, especially from the students of the University of Nottingham campus in Malaysia! The Prince received big cheers as he arrived to help launch the Commonwealth Youth Summit, which consists of around 180 delegates from across the Commonwealth. Organised by the Commonwealth Youth  Council, it is the officially recognised voice of 1.2 billion young people. The Prince also visited the Islamic Arts Museum, where HRH said he was “delighted to be in Malaysia for the first time.”. The Duchess meanwhile met students at the International School Parkcity. In the evening, Their Royal Highnesses attended a Gala Dinner to celebrate 60 years of UK-Malaysia diplomatic ties.More photos below.

NIGERIAN TROOPS RESCUED A 6 YEARS OLD BOY & RECOVERED ITEMS FROM SOME BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS ON FRIDAY.{PHOTOS}.

           Troops of 152 Battalion, 21 Brigade Nigerian Army, on Operation LAFIYA DOLE, in furtherance of blockade and clearance operations DEEP PUNCH 2 and their resolve to rout out the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists hibernating in some areas, ambushed a group of unsuspecting Boko Haram terrorists at the early hours of Friday, 3rd November 2017, along Banki-Bula Yobe road in Bama Local Government Area of Bo rno State.  The troops sprung the ambush on the terrorists and neutralised 1 of them and recovered 4 Bicycles, some Mechanical tools which aids the terrorists vehicle movement, clothes and explosive wires from the ambush site.Similarly, the troops of 151 Battalion, 21 Brigade Nigerian Army, also ambushed some unsuspecting Boko Haram terrorists who were attempting to cross into the Sambisa forest at about 7:40pm same day, along BOCOST-Bama road. WE ARE UNAWARE OF WORKER'S ALLEGED SUICIDE-KWARA STATE GOVERNMENT.

      The Kwara State Government says it is unaware of any worker's alleged death or suicide on account of unpaid salaries. The state government made the clarification while reacting to an online media report, which attributed the alleged death of a Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) worker to the failure of the state government to pay his salaries. While maintaining that state civil servants have been fully paid up to date, the government pointed out that only local government workers are owed varying degrees of arrears by their councils and not by the state government.
