 Anambra State Govt. Rescues 13 Children From Traffickers, Arrests Suspects By OCHA Brigade Media  13 children have been rescued from suspected child traffickers in Otolo Nnewi by a joint taskforce of Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade and Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs. The joint taskforce also confiscated fake documents that aided the trafficking.  The children were found malnourished and have been denied education.  Report say that the trafficker adopts and sold children to people from different parts of the country. Man arrested for stealing two horses in Niger state The Niger State Police Command has arrested one Ahmed Abubakar Aliyu, for stealing two horses from a farm at Chekungi village. Spokesperson of the command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, October 12, 2023, said the stolen horses were recovered from the suspect and returned to the owner.  “On 04/10/2023 at about 1430hrs, a case of missing horses from a farm at Chekungi village via Bida was reported at ‘A’ Div Bida, that on 03/10/2023 at about 2110hrs, two female horses were missing from the stable where about five horses were kept,” the statement reads. “The complainant strongly suspected one Ahmed Abubakar Aliyu ‘m’ of Zaria, Kaduna who was in the farm and he had been visiting the farm for horse grooming and racing “The suspect was immediately arrested from the farm and during interrogation, he confessed to the crime that he moved the two horses to a nearby bush from the farm, while he later hired...

Police arrest man accused of killing his wife in South Africa A South African man, Sithembiso Wiseman Mlambo, has been arrested for the murder of his 39-year-old wife, Sithembile Joyce Mlambo, in South Africa.  Police in KwaZulu-Natal said the Mlambo,49, was intercepted by police while on his way to Ladysmith. KZN police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala said the accused was arrested on the N11 near the Collings Pass turn-off on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.  The arrest comes hours after police revealed that a warrant of arrest was out for the Osizweni resident. Gwala said on May 29, 2023, Sithembile Joyce Mlambo had returned from work when she was accosted by her husband. Mlambo was driving her vehicle in the Mndozo area when the suspect opened fire on her, Gwala said.  The victim, who was still in uniform, was declared dead at the scene. Isreali-Hamas: US, UK, India evacuate citizens, deaths hit 2,700 The United States, the United Kingdom, India and France are working to evacuate their citizens from Israel following the attacks by Hamas. CNN reports that India’s charter flight scheduled to land in Tel Aviv on Thursday evening will collect approximately 230 Indian nationals. Lightning kills albino Catholic priest in Benue Lightning has reportedly killed a Catholic priest identified as Rev. Fr. Faustinus Ukenongo Gundu in Benue State. According to eyewitness reports, Gundu, an albino, was struck by lightning and died on the spot on Thursday. The incident happened at his church in Jootar Mbaterem in Mbayenge Ward of Ukum Local Government Area. Gundu was said to be the Parish Priest in charge of St. Joseph Catholic Church Jootar until his reported sudden death. An eyewitness, Emberga T. Originally scheduled for Wednesday October 11, the week 3 fixture, as well as all other games of the matchday, has been moved to the weekend.
