 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

                         Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway,was photographed at the Vanity fair Oscar Party at the Wallis Annernberg centre for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills yesterday evening.In the photograph below,she was photographed with her husband Adam Shulman and Eddie Reymayne.The Oscar winning actress cut a glamorous figure in a black and gold sequinned gown which covered up her growing baby bumb as she arrived at the evenr earlier in the evening.Leonardo Dicarprio finally won his first Oscars for his performance in The Revenant yesterday night after four previous unsuccessful nominations.The 4 1  year  old actor used his lengthy acceptance speech to deliver a lecture on the subject of climate change,and he spoke for a longer period than other winners.He told the audience ''Climate change is real,it's the most urgent threat facing our species.We need help around the world''.More photos below.

IN A NEW LIST,NIGERIA INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT IS 1 OF THE WEAKEST,WHILE SOME COUNTRIES HAVE THE WORST PASSPORT IN THE WORLD.

                According to a new research/list that is circulating the internet,Nigerian international passport is one of the weakest in the world.In a statement  made by Henley & Partners,which has offices around the world,including London and Melbourne said only 2 1  of the  1 99 countries listed in this years's study remained in the same rank as last year.''No country however,dropped more than three positions,indicating that overall,visa-free access is improving around the world.Somalia,Iraq,Pakinstan and Afghanistan meanwhile,continue to hold the bottom four positions on the index,and thus have again been labelled the worst passports in the world.Timor-Leste,in Sotheast Asia,had the biggest leap,climbing 33 spots to 57th place,followed by Colombia and Paula,which jumped 25 and 20 sports,respectively.Hungary returned to the top  1 0,while Malaysia was bumped out.''.Henley & Partners,which has produced an annual index in co-operation with the Interdepend

KENYA AUTHORITIES,GIVES GOOGLE 1 WEEK TO REMOVE A GAY MUSIC VIDEO,THAT IS PROMOTING GAY RELATIONSHIPS.

                       According to sources,Kenya Film Classification Board {KFCB} asked Google to pull down a local song that is promoting gay relationships,terming it as ''Inappropriate''.Chief executive Ezekiel Mutua during a media briefing in Nairobi said ''Kenya must not allow its people to become the Sodom and Gomorrah of the current age through psychological drive from such content.We have written to Google to remove the video from their platforms.We expect they will do it within one week from now to avoid further violation of the law''.According to sources,KFCB has sent letters to Google Kenya and other arms of law to take action against the creators and distributors of the music video.The music video is titled ''Same Love'' by a Kenya band called Art Attack.Althouh Homosexuality is illegal in Kenya,according to Mr.Mutua the video has graphic scenes of same gender people as well as nudity and pornography.More photos below.

30 PEOPLE DIED YESTERDAY IN SOMALIA,AFTER A TWIN BOMB-BLAST.

                 Yesterday sunday,Somalia's al-Shabaab Islamist group bombed a busy junction and a nearby restaurant in the town of Baidoa,killing at least 330 people.Police Colonel Abdi Osman said the death toll was 30,with 40 others injured.A Hospital official said many of the bodies it received were charred beyond recognition.Another police source said a suicide car bomb blew up at the junction while a second blast possibly a bomb that had been planted or a suicide bomber struck the restaurant.Al-Shabaab's military operation spokes man Sheikh Abdiasis Abu Musab,confirmed they were responsible when he told pressmen that ''We targeted government officials and forces'' and he further said ''There was a police station nearby''.One more photo below.

EMIR OF KANO ORDERS THE RELEASE OF ESE ORURU+THE MINISTER OF WOMEN AFFAIRS IS INTERESTED IN THE CASE.

                               According to The Nation newspaper,the Emir of Kano,Malam Sanusi Lamido II has ordered the Sharia Commission in the state to liaise with office of the Deputy Inspector General of Police,zone  1  to immediately commence process of returning the a  1 4 year old teenage girl,Ese Oruru,who was allegedly abducted in Bayelsa state.Eso was allegedly kidnapped by one Yunusa in Opolo,Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State,in August20 1 5.He reportedly renamed her Aishat on arriving Kano state.The Minister of Women Affairs,Hajia Aishat Al-Hassan has condemned the abduction and forced child marriage of a  1 3 year old but now  1 4 year old.The Minister and governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress {APC} made this known on twitter handle today monday.She tweeted ''Our laws are very clear on the case.Ese Oruru is  1 4 and as such cannot consent to marriage.Any such union she's in is illegal.I have been in touch with police authorities
