 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

MAN GOES MISSING IN OGUN, HIS CAR FOUND ABANDONED ALONG ROAD WITH THE DOORS OPEN  A man identified as Mr Jimoh Lateef a.k.a Lateef Naira has been declared missing after he left Ikangba, Ijebu Ode to Imodi town in Ogun State. His brother said he left Ikpangba in the early hours of Sunday November 13, 2022 and never got to his destination. His car was later found abandoned along a road with the doors of the driver's side wide open and his phones missing. The family is said to have reported the situation to the nearby police station where the vehicle was taken. More photos below.

Gunmen Kills Wife Of Ex-Chairman of Nasarawa Eggon In Lafia  ***  A former Chairman of Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Council in Nasarawa State, Hon. Akolo Ahmed Success, has lost his wife, Mrs Astira Success.  Mrs Success was killed by gunmen in her way to Assakio market when she was attacked at about 9 am on Monday, along Lafia-Shendam road. According to reports, the deceased was sitting at the passenger’s side of the car when gunmen opened fire on the vehicle, apparently targeting the driver when a stray bullet hit her. Until her death, she was a renowned businesswoman with two children.  Meanwhile, her body has been deposited at a mortuary.

Herbalist and suspected Yahoo Boy caught with human parts in Delta A suspected fraudster and his herbalist known as Ike, aka Ogenesu, have been arrested after policemen attached to the Obiaruku Police Station recovered suspected human parts at the herbalist’s place in Obiaruku, Ukwuani Local Government Area, Delta State. The suspect was driving around 5.20pm on Friday, October 28, when five policemen who were on a stop-and-search duty flagged down his vehicle. The suspect refused to park and sped off instead, so the policemen chased after him and finally caught up with him. The policemen, while searching the vehicle, found a note specifying the need for human parts, Punch reports. "The instruction on the note was that the man should provide a human head, hand and leg. After recovering the note, the policemen asked what he wanted to use the specified items for and out of fear, he said it was for something," a source told the publication. Governor Uzodimma has appointed Sir Prince Eleazar Onyewuchi Ogbonna as the Chairman, Imo State Sports Commission.  His appointment is with immediate effect from 9th November, 2022. He's an ambassador of the South East Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) and patron of ex-footballers, Prince Ogbonna has on several occasion championed the course of using football to discover the hidden talents in many youths. Governor Soludo Responds..    History Beckons and I will not be Silent (Part 1) My attention has been drawn to some of the tirades on social media following my frank response during an interview on Channels TV regarding the “investments” Mr. Peter Obi claimed to have made with Anambra state revenues. Sadly, several of the comments left the issue of the interview to probe or suggest motives, inferred from my response on “investment” that I am opposed to Peter Obi’s ambition and therefore committed a “crime” for which the punishment is internecine abuse and harassment even to my family. Some people even suggest that the gunmen who went to attack a checkpoint at my hometown on Saturday 12th November but were gunned down was part of the mob reaction. Anambra State Government Demolishes Illegal Building At Federal Housing Estate, Onitsha, Cautions Against Evading Government Approvals Anambra State Government Joint Task Force has demolished a one-storey building illegally erected in Federal Housing Estate, Trans-Nkisi, Onitsha North Council Area. The effort is in continuation of its enforcement exercise to enthrone a saner and liveable environment in the State.   The one-storey building, which was brought down was encroaching on the street.  The building demolished which situated at the entrance of Amos Best Street, was built for commercial activities by landlords' association. A petition had earlier been brought against the illegal structure after which a notice of removal was served. SANWO-OLU COMMISERATES WITH CHIEF OF STAFF, TAYO AYINDE OVER WIFE’S DEATH The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has commiserated with his Chief of Staff, Mr. Tayo Ayinde, on the death of his wife, Princess Adedoyin Raliat Ayinde. Princess Ayinde nee Ojora died on Sunday at 36 after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband and children.  Governor Sanwo-Olu, who expressed his sadness over the death of Princess Adedoyin Ayinde in a statement issued on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, described the death as shocking and a great loss not only to the Ayinde and Ojora families but Lagos State.
