  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.   Ebonyi Police spokesperson Chris Anyanwu who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, December 15, said the discovery followed an operation by the Police during which its operatives engaged in a gun battle with IPOB/ESN members leading to the death of two of the separatist group members and arrest of one of the state commanders.   He said the bomb factory was discovered in a camp at Obegu, a boundary area between Onicha-Isu and Ishielu LGAs of Ebonyi State.   The statement read;    “The invasion of the criminals’ den was necessitated by an earlier encounter between operatives of the Command’s Tactical Teams, sequel to a credible information gathered that the hoodlums were operating/wreaking havoc in the State with a Toyota Sienna space bus which they robbed at gun point from the owner within Ishielu axis. “A quick trail and joint effort with a team of detectives attached to Ohaukwu Division led to the arrest of Sunday Ubah a.k.a Bongo, the State Commander of the IPOB/ESN in Ebonyi

OGUN POLICE ARRESTS 49 YEARS OLD MAN WHILE BATHING WITH BL0OD.  A 49 years old man, Ganiyu Shina of No 4, Oguji street, Obantoko Abeokuta, was on Thursday, 15th of December 2022, arrested by men of Ogun state Police Command for bathing with blood at a community river in kotopo area of Odeda local government . The suspect was arrested when members of the community sighted him at the River Bank, where he parked his Nissan commercial vehicle, came out with local sponge and a container filled with bl0od and started bathing with it. Nigerian Islamic Cleric, Abduljabbar Kabara Sentenced To Death By Hanging For Blasphemy An Upper Sharia Court sitting in Kano has sentenced controversial Islamic cleric Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara, to death by hanging.  The embattled Nigerian cleric was arrested and detained by the state government for allegedly making blasphemous statements against Prophet Muhammad. According to the charge, his statements are capable of disrupting public peace. Abduljabbar was charged on July 16, 2021, by the Kano state government before Justice Sarki Yola over alleged blasphemy and incitement. Abduljabbar Kabara is famous for his controversial religious commentaries and statements, which some Muslims have regarded as sacrilegious to Prophet Muhammad. On Thursday, the court sentenced the cleric to death by hanging. After delivering the judgement, Justice Sarki Yola gave the convict 30 days to appeal the judgment or forfeit his right to do so.

COURT REMANDS 75 YEAR OLD SUNDAY MUOGHALU IN PRISON FOR DEFILING A MINOR.  A Chief Magistrate's Court sitting in Awka, Anambra State, has remanded a-75 year old man, Sunday Muoghalu in Prison custody, on an offence of child defilement of a 13 year old. Police commence investigation into rail/motor accident in Abuja  Ikko Yahuza  The Federal Capital Territory FCT, Police Command have confirmed the unfortunate incident of rail/motor fatal accident that happened at Chikakore axis in the Kubwa Area council of the FCT. This was contained in a statement signed by the Image Maker of the Command, DSP Josephine Adeh and made available to Nigeria Police Radio in Abuja.  According to the statement upon receipt of the information, Crime Scene Investigators attached to the Byazin Divisional Police Headquarters drifted swiftly to the scene, took charge of the situation. She added that the victim was confirmed dead by medical practitioner on ground.  Investigation has commenced by the Railway Division having jurisdiction over the track.  Findings and safety tips already existing will be put to proper use to ensure a non repeat of incident shshortly.
