 Anambra State Govt. Rescues 13 Children From Traffickers, Arrests Suspects By OCHA Brigade Media  13 children have been rescued from suspected child traffickers in Otolo Nnewi by a joint taskforce of Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade and Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs. The joint taskforce also confiscated fake documents that aided the trafficking.  The children were found malnourished and have been denied education.  Report say that the trafficker adopts and sold children to people from different parts of the country. Egypt fire: Dozens dead in Giza Coptic church At least 41 people have died in a fire at a church in the Egyptian city of Giza,  An electrical fire broke out as 5,000 worshippers gathered for mass at the Coptic Abu Sifin church,  The fire blocked an entrance, causing a stampede, the sources said, adding that many of those killed were children. Dozens are thought to be injured.Fire services say the blaze has been brought under control.The exact cause of the fire is not clear. “People were gathering on the third and fourth floor, and we saw smoke coming from the second floor. NIGERIAN MAN WHO WAS DEPORTED FROM MALTA FOR ABUSING A HORSE HAS BEEN ARRESTED FOR MURDER IN ITALY.(PHOTO).

A 24-year-old Nigerian man who was deported from Malta after he was found abusing a horse has been arrested for murder in Italy. Robert Omo is alleged to have bludgeoned a Chinese man to death using a hammer. He also allegedly seriously injured a Bulgarian man. Omo was charged in an Avellino court last week and pleaded not guilty, claiming not to recall what happened in the incident. Italian media has reported that Omo was unprovoked when he attacked the two men on July 30, first striking the 49-year-old Bulgarian from behind and then attacking a 59-year-old Chinese man who stepped in to stop him. The Bulgarian man is still in hospital with serious injuries while the Chinese man died as a result of the attack. Omo was in Italy after having been expelled from Malta. He had been caught inside a Xewkija stable with his trousers down, standing behind a horse. Video footage showed him chasing the horse around the stables, kicking it and hitting it. Traditional Ruler Of Ogbunka, Igwe Anyaoha Admitted Into Order Of Knight Of Saint Mulumba The traditional ruler of Ogbunka Community, Igwe Johnmark Anyaoha has been admitted into the first degree order of knighthood of Saint Mulumba, Onitsha Metropolitan Council. Igwe Anyaoha and wife, alongside thirty-seven others, took the oaths of affirmation and allegiance to the order during a holy mass at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Awka. The Ogbunka traditional ruler will represent Akpu Sub-Council of the order. The Knight of Saint Mulumba, founded on June 14th, 1953, is the first indigenous knighthood order in Nigeria. Gunmen Kidnap Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Bursar The Bursar, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) formerly, Anambra State University was kidnapped on his way back from work during the week. A source confirmed that the Bursar who stopped at a joint around Nimo to have some fresh air was abducted with some other persons. Anambra has witnessed a lot of kidnappings in recent times with some reported cases at Oraukwu, Umuoji, Umueri, etc. As at the time of filing this report, there has been no news about his release.

35 Kidnap Victims Regain Freedom In Kaduna Thirty-five persons kidnapped at Keke ‘B’ Millennium City in Chikun local government area of Kaduna State, have regained their freedom. The victims, kidnapped about three weeks ago from their houses by bandits, were released by their abductors on Friday night after a payment of N2.5 million as ransom. Meanwhile, one of the kidnap victims is still in captivity because his family was unable to meet the bandits’ demand of two motorcycles for his release. Similarly, another kidnapped Doctor and 15 others, including women and children from Sabon Gero community also in Chikun local government area of the State, have also regained their freedom. The leader of the Civilian JTF in the community, Uwasu Yunusa, confirmed the development to journalists in Kaduna, adding that no ransom was paid for their release.
