The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.         The Honourable Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, has been invited by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development to speak at the Platform for Collaboration on Tax Conference on Thursday, February 15, at the United Nations in New York. The Platform for Collaboration on Tax (PCT) Conference, which will hold between February 14 and 16, 2018, is a collaborative initiative of the United Nations, Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group. The Director of Centre for Tax Policy and Administration, OECD, Pascal Saint-Amans, who signed the invitation letter, said the Minister would also be in a panel to discuss “Revenue Leakages: Illicit Financial Flows”. FASHOLA COMMISSIONED TWO TRANSFORMERS IN KATAMPE & APO IN ABUJA TODAY.

            The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola today commissioned two 100MVA, 132/33kV Transformers in Katampe and Apo in the Federal Capital Territory. Speaking at the commissioning, the Minister said that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has in the last 2 years grown its capacity, so that it is now able to transmit the entire 7,000MW capacity of Nigeria's Gencos. Today, TCN capacity expanded even further with commissioning of two 100MVA, 132/33kV Trans formers in Katampe and Apo in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) respectively. The installation of the two 100MVA, 132/33kV Transformers each at Apo and Katampe, will increase the total wheeling capacity of TCN, which was last simulated in December 2017, to slightly above 7,000MW. With the commissioning of the Transformers, these areas will experience improved power supply: Gwarinpa, Life Camp, Jabi, Kado, Wuye, Maitama, Mpape, Katampe 1 & II, Jahi, Mabushi Garki, Gudu, Guzape, Asokoro,

EDO GOVT IS SET TO CONSTRUCT 25 NEW ROADS.

       The Edo State Government has earmarked 25 new roads for construction across the state in the coming weeks, as it intensifies efforts to deliver projects that will transform the socio-economic landscape of the state. Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Osarodion Ogie Esq., disclosed this during a chat with journalists, in Benin City, Edo State. He said, “The state government led by Godwin Obaseki will deliver on its mandate to transform infrastructure across the state. In the coming weeks, 25 new roads have been earmarked for construction, by the state government.”. He added that the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration has provided leadership capable of transforming the state into an economic hub.“The governor knows how to pull resources for the benefit of a great majority of Edo people.           Ibadan Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Monday 12th February, 2018 has arraigned one Adejare Sonde, a former banker before Justice A. A. Akinyemi of the State High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State on a twelve-count charge bordering on stealing, forgery and uttering. The defendant however, pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him. In view of his plea, prosecution counsel, Co smos Ugwu prayed the court for a trial date and urged the court to remand the defendant in prison custody. However, counsel to the defendant, E. E. Jacob informed the court of a bail application already filed before the court. He thereafter prayed the court to allow the defendant remain in the EFCC's custody pending the hearing of the bail application.Justice Akinyemi, while adjourning the case to Friday February 16, 2018 for trial and hearing of bail application, granted the defense prayer and ordered that the defendant be remanded in EFCC's

         Chinenye Genevieve is reporting today that ''TRAGEDY NEWS Sunday 11th of February 2018 turned bloody as innocent children joined their creator while returning from a prayer meeting.. This incident took place at manjonny bus stop, in front of debase filling Station Oba. According to the eye witness, a 911 tipper was trying to overtake a trailer and suddenly saw a car approaching, so instead of hitting the car, he jumped out of the road and crushed a Toyota Tundra loaded with children(about 20+) packed by the road side to discharge some  people(to their destinations). Many died as many was rushed to the hospital including the driver,( the general overseer of the prayer ministry whom later died).The tipper driver ran away ,so the angry youth of Oba community has no other option but to block the road and set the tipper ablaze........please stop whatever you are doing and just type R.I.P to the deceased''.More photos below.

LAGOS PAYS OVER N6M TO DISPLACED FAMILIES AT ADENIJI ADELE PHASE 1 ESTATE.

         The Lagos State Government has paid N6.6 million to the 12 families who were displaced due to the ongoing redevelopment project of Adeniji Adele Phase 1 Housing Estate on the Lagos Island as rent for the Year 2017/2018. Speaking at the payment ceremony, Mr. Lateef Sholebo, General Manager of Lagos Urban Renewal Agency, LASURA, said the 12 families who received the payment were among the 30 families livi ng in the Estate before the demolition for redevelopment. He said the Lagos State Government had first paid an initial N18m as rent for the 12 families in 2014, adding that the recent payment of N6.6m is for the Year 2017/18 with each family collecting N550,000 as against N500,00 previously collected due to increase in rent.                        A clergyman identified as Rev Tochukwu Maduanusi has died in accident along the Oba/Nnewi road. He was rushed to Nnewi Teaching Hospital but eventually gave up the ghost.His friends and relatives were pictured crying uncontrollably on seeing his corpse.
