EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

AFRICAN POLICE CHIEFS ENDORSES IGP IDRIS AS VICE CHAIRMAN OF FORUM IN ALGERIA,YESTERDAY.{PHOTOS}.

                 The African Police Cooperation Mechanism has endorsed the Inspector-General of Police,Ibrahim Kpotun-Idris,as its second Vice Chairman.His endorsement camee after he was nominated by the police Chiefs of all the West African countries resent at the forum.The assembly also endorsed IGP of Algeria as its chairman,others are the police boss of Central Republiv of African who was endorsed as the 3rd Vice Chairman while police boss of Zambia was endorsed as the rapporteur.The officials will run the bureau for period of 2 years.Their endorsement was announced at a 3 day meeting of all police Chiefs in Africa {AFRIPOL} held in Algiers,Algeria.The appointment of IGP Idris was collectively accepted and lauded by assembly.Nigeria has by this appointment gotten the first opportunity ever to serve at such a high profile capacity of AFRIPOL in the region.Idris who welcome his endorsement said it would be an added advantage for Nigeria to collaborate with member countries in the are

                                                             Popular Yoruba actress who passed away two days in Canada might be buried in Canada.The 42 year old actress might be buried in Canada as her aged mother lives in Nigeria and its a taboo in Yoruba land to see the corpse of one's child.Moji is the daughter of Nigeria's high life music legend,Victor Olaiya,who just did a remix of his old school song {Baby Jowo} with Tuface Idibia,was confirmed dead barely two months after welcoming her second child in Canada,just a few moths after she officially divorced her first husband to remarry another one.It was said that she died of Cardiac Arrest.She stepped into the spotlight through one of Wale Adenuga's production ''Super Story'' in the 90s.Her first marriage crashed in 2008,and last year she secretly remarried,then got pregnant,then after her she delivered her child two months ago,she died.May her gentle soul rest in peace,Amen.More photos below.

COURT CONVICTS FORMER STAFF OF NATIONAL ORTHOPAEDIC HOSPITAL KANO TODAY.{PHOTOS}.

                   The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today secured the conviction of Uma Yusuf,and Ibrahim Ahmed Bebeji,former Chief Cleriical Officers in the Account and Internal Audit Department respectively at the National Orthopaedic Hospital,Dala Kano State.The duo was convicted for conniving to misappropriate the sum of N3,180,853 {Three Million,One Hundred and Eighty Thousand,Eight Hundred and Fifty Three Naira Only} belonging to National Orthopaedic Hospital Dala,Kano State.The convicts perpetrated the fraud through the manipulation of receipt paid by patients.Upon their arraignment on 29th July,2015 they pleaded not guilty and in order to prove the case against the convicts,counsel for the prosecution,Musa Isah called a total of four witnesses and tendered several exhibits.In her judgment today,Justice Aboki held that the prosecution established the ingredients of the offence of Conspiracy in count one and she accordingly convicted them as charged.Aso on counts two

                  Justice Rilawan Aikawa of the Federal High Court in Lagos today Friday,May 19,2017 ordered the final forfeiture of the sum of N449,597,000 found in an abandoned Bureau de Change shop in Victoria Island,Lagos by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC.The forfeiture order followed a motion on notice taken before him by the anti-graft agency.The temporary forfeiture of the money was ordered on April 19 till today for one Mohammed Tauheed,who was joined as respondent in the suit and any other interested party to appear before the Judge to give reasons why the money should not be finally forfeited to the Federal Government.At the resumed hearing of the case today,the Judge ordered the final forfeiture to the Federal Government as no one came forward to claim it.On friday,counsel for the EFCC,Idris Mohammed,told the judge that the interim order of April 19 had been advertised in the newspaper on May 11,so as to bring the case to the notice of Tauheed any interest

                     Yesterday thursday the CopyRight Society of Nigeria {COSON} prior to the commission of the COSON House tomorrow saturday,the building owners {thousands of Musicians} after the 7th Annual General Meeting held yesterday at Solab hotels Ikeja,paid a visit to the house for inspection.It is indeed a dream come true for any group especially in the entertainment industry.I {Pink Republic} was present at the event because am a active member of COSON.I have to say the truth am impress because I joined this Organization about 6 years ago and I can say from a humble beginning to this is a miracle.I entered the building yesterday though some construction is still on going,the last floor of the building is a mini hall that can accommodate at least 300 people and a say a big white wall that was perfect for me to strike a pose.I want to use this opportunity to Thank the Chairman of COSON,Chief Tony Okoroji,the Board of Directors and the entire staff & members of COSON for mak
