And because somewhere out there, I know there's someone who needs to hear this.       The General Manager of the LagosState Parks and Gardens Agency, (LASPARK), Mrs. Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola, has called on all the “Green Partners” of the State to support the Government’s Christmas decoration exercise by beautifying and lighting up the sites adopted by their organisations.        The Lagos State Government has identified the need to explore the private sector involvement in its drive to increase public awareness on Cancer and HIV/AIDs as part of efforts to stem the spread of the deadly diseases. The Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Pharm. Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf, said that there is a need for the Private Sector and Non-Governmental Organizations to continuall y support and partner with government in the area of research and public education of these common diseases in the society. Speaking at an awareness outreach on Breast, Cervical Cancer Screening and HIV Testing and Counseling for Youth in Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area of the State, Akinbile-Yussuf added that the obligation of raising awareness about the potential killer diseases should be collectively pursued and not to be left to government alone.       The Anambra State governor, Willie Obiano, has declared November 17, 2017, as public holiday. This, according to him, is to enable civil servants in the state to relocate to their electoral wards to be able to participate in the governorship election coming up on November 18. Governor Obiano made the announcement during his address to civil servants at the 2017 African Public Service Day. The event took place at the state capital, Awka. Obiano also announced the payment of their leave allowance on the 15th of November. Speaking about the contributory pension, he dismisses the insinuation that his administration has mandated all workers under the state to enroll. He stated that his government has set up a committee to examine the programme and make recommendations.      This young man who goes by the name Victor Chijioke Ezenwa and hails from Ajakpani Village in Umunya Oyi Local Government Area was to wed his heartthrob Marylinda tomorrow 11th November 2017 but unfortunately, he died before the said date and now he will be buried same tomorrow.        Justice Saliu Sadu of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Thursday, November 9, 2017, ordered the temporary forfeiture of Flat 7B Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos, to the Federal Government. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, had discovered the sums of $43, 449, 947, £27,800 and N23, 218 kept in iron cabinets and jute bags, otherwise known as ‘Ghana-must-go’ bags, in the apartment on Wednesda y, April 12, 2017. The money had since been permanently forfeited to the Federal Government. Justice Sadu gave the forfeiture order on the flat following an ex parte application filed by the counsel to the EFCC, Rotimi Oyedepo. Oyedepo had, on May 5, 2017, revealed that the wife of a former Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ayo Oke, Folashade, owns the apartment. She was said to have made a cash payment of $1.658m for the flat between August 25 and September 3, 2015 in the name of a company, Chobe Ventures ...
