EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud.        1. Troops of 3 Battalion on operation LAFIYA DOLE have successfully repelled Boko Haram terrorists attack at Ngamboru Ngala, Borno state. 2. One Boko Haram terrorist was neutralized during the encounter while other members of the group fled following a superior fire power from the troops. 3.      The attention of the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), Mr. Ahmed Idris, has been drawn to some misleading and false publications by the Premium Times and Saharareporters which alleged extra-budgetary spending over the release of N10 billion for contractors’ liabilities. The Office of the AGF wishes to disclaim the malicious reports as there was no extra-budgetary spending over the release of the funds for contractors’ liabilities. The Office of the AGF had in recent times observed that the Premium Times has formed the habit of distorting and concocting allegations against the Federal Government, the Federal Ministry of Finance and OAGF in a bid to achieve a hidden agenda despite all efforts made to set the record straight before representatives of Premium Times and also present documents to support the transparency and accountability in the release of funds to the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and institutions of Government.            The thugs who invaded the Nigerian Senate on wednesday and stole its mace have been identified. The five suspects have been arrested by the FCT police command after they brazenly broke into the chambers of the National assembly and forcefully escaped with the Mace, the symbol of authority of the nation’s legislature. The criminals were led into the Red Chambers by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, are all from Delta State. The names are: 1. PETER OREDE – Warri South LGA 2. BLESSING EDJEKE from Abraka In Ethiope East LGA 3. TUOYO MABIAKU – Warri North Local Government Area 4. LUCKY OKOMU from Oghara in Ethiope West LGA 5. POLICE OFFICER KILLED IN ROAD MISHAP WHILE TRYING TO AVOID COLLISION WITH CATTLE IN ANAMBRA STATE.{PHOTOS}

      Sorrow has filled the home of Mrs. Rita Emesim, the Assistant Commissioner of Police(ACP) in charge of Administration in the Anambra Command of the Nigeria Police Force as she lost her husband, CSP Oscar Emesim in a ghastly motor accident. Recounting the story of her husband's demise, who is also a police officer, amid tears; ACP Rita Emesim revealed that her husband was on the Enugu axis of the  Awka-Enugu express way, when suddenly a herd of cattle walked into the expressway. The late police officer's driver while trying to avoid the herd, rammed into a heavy duty truck, with the officer sustaining various degrees of injuries and died on the way to the hospital as a result of over bleeding.        This is to notify that the Adhoc Staff of Anambra Traffic Management Agency (ATMA) and Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO) has been disengaged. Therefore, only the statutory officers on uniform engaged by the State are allowed to perform ATMA or VIO functions. Henceforth, seizing of vehicle plate numbers and batteries by any ATMA and VIO staff is highly prohibited. RANCHING LAW NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR CURRENT KILLINGS-BENUE GOVT.

           It has become necessary to correct wrong impressions being created in some quarters that the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law is the cause of the recent spate of violence, killings and occupation of some communities in Benue State by armed herdsmen. Those who claim that the law is the reason for the killings need to be reminded that more than 50 attacks on communities across 14 local government areas Benue State date back to 2011 and had claimed nearly 2,000 lives before the making of the law last year. It can also be recalled that former Governor Gabriel Suswam's convoy came under attack when he was on an inspection tour of some of the ravaged communities in Guma local government area during his tenure. Besides, incessant attacks continue to take place in several states in the six geopolitical zones across the country where there is no grazing law in place.
